We were welcomed as soon as entering the restaurant which was nicely decorated and very clean. The hostess/waitress was friendly and attentive making sure we were enjoying our meal and had everything we needed. The food was some of the best we have had. Each dish had such delicious flavors and spices and was cooked perfectly. The portions were generous and everything was nicely presented.

Lunch buffet, 15 May 26. This place is a gem. I’ve had the opportunity to work in many states and dozens of countries, including India (Mumbai, Cochin, Vizag, Vadodara, Delhi).
I absolutely adore and obsess over this style. Tikka House is representative of the style, and I especially appreciate the (well marinated) tandoori chicken and layered complexity of the various curries available the day i visited, the usual, typical curry dishes we all know and love.
I make good curries at home, and have had the great luck of enjoying them around the world. Tikka House in Waco, Tx is yummy on all accounts, i was almost tempted to drop my fork and spoon and eat my food Indian style 🤣
Bahhut svadishst kana hei, bahut achha, mujhei yei pasanda hei, danyavad! 👍😁👍

The pricing at this restaurant is completely misleading. The menu prices do not match what you’re actually charged. When we asked, we were told new menus were “in printing,” but this wasn’t just one or two items—it applied to almost everything we ordered, each item being $2–$3 higher than listed. This should have been clearly communicated upfront.
For example, the fried rice was listed at $9.99 but we were charged $13.99, plus an extra $2 for chicken. Seekh kabab was listed at $15.99 but charged at $18.99—$19 for what tasted like frozen, 3-piece kababs is unacceptable. Even well-known places in Houston don’t charge that much for better quality. Butter naan was listed at $2.99 but charged $3.49, and Irani gosht went from $15.99 to $17.
On top of that, the service was very poor. The lady server was inattentive—we had to repeatedly get her attention whenever we needed something. Even worse, she brought the bill and card machine while we were still eating, and I had to ask her to wait until we finished.
Despite all this, we still left a tip out of courtesy, but honestly, the restaurant needs better-trained staff, not some international college students who is looking for a part time job and not allowed to work legally and more transparency in pricing. This experience was disappointing and frustrating.
If you’re reading this review, do yourself a favor—skip this place and take your business to one of the many better restaurants in Waco. There are plenty of options that offer honest pricing, better quality food, and far superior service.
Made a quick stop here on our way to Dallas.
It was randomly chosen based on reviews. For the first time ever, google reviews have turned out to be true!!
We ordered butter chicken and tadka dal with kashmiri naan and keema naan. Butter chicken was very flavorful and dal tadka was delicious.
They accommodated our spice requirement pretty well.
Naan was fresh and soft.
The place was clean and well maintained.
I overate!! Lol

We have been here once for the lunch buffet which was delicious but very warm inside (this was last summer; I don't know if this is still the case). However, we recently got dinner to go here and enjoyed trying several new items that were all delicious, including the mint kulcha (savory bread with mint stuffing), malai kofta (cheese/potato balls in a creamy sauce), keema naan (bread stuffed with seasoned ground meat), the mixed grill plate, and methi malai mutter (peas in a creamy, herby fenugreek sauce). Everything was soooo good!! 😍
We love all three Indian/Pakistani restaurants in Waco because they each offer a slightly different menu, and it is fun to try new things. I will absolutely be getting several of these items again at Tikka House! Some of the other more unique options here include multiple variations of momo (dumplings) and several Indo-Chinese dishes.
*Also for pricing, I said $20-30 per person because many dishes are about $15 but would be more like $20 after tax and tip or if you get an appetizer or naan or anything. We happened to get like 4 mains and three breads, so we did pay more total... But will be getting several meals out of all of it. :-)
