As foodies from Houston, we don’t impress easily — but Jorge's Restaurant & Bar absolutely exceeded every expectation. We visited during Baylor graduation weekend, which you would assume would make it difficult to maintain a high level of service and quality with how busy the city was — but somehow, they absolutely nailed it.
The service was beyond exceptional. Attentive, polished, welcoming, and genuinely caring from start to finish. The food was outstanding — beautifully presented, high quality, and full of flavor. Honestly, this experience rivaled many upscale restaurants we frequent in Houston.
What impressed me even more was seeing the owners themselves constantly involved. I personally saw them coming out of the kitchen carrying trays of food and helping with bar drinks. They don’t just “own” the restaurant — they are fully present, working alongside their team, making sure every guest has an incredible experience. That level of passion and leadership shows in every detail.
Waco is lucky to have a restaurant like this. Jorge’s delivers true hospitality, amazing food, and the kind of dining experience people remember long after the meal is over. We will absolutely be back.
My husband and I went here for our anniversary lunch yesterday and we were more than pleasantly surprised we were actually blown away by the gorgeous facility atmosphere, the phenomenally clean bathrooms, snd the super delicious salsas and enchilada lunch plates! More importantly impressed by the friendly, kind, and attentive staff from start to finish! Highly recommend and we will be back again soon!

UPDATE:
Manager came and apologized for the situation..not sure if they saw the review as I did leave it immediately after sitting but she said the guy manager was the owner. They ended up going from free appetizer to free food as well. All we paid for was the drinks which we didn't ask for anything at all so nice to see they did. Food really was top notch and the drinks were great as well. Our server was also great.
Very upset with the service and horrible estimate of wait. We were quoted 15-25 mins on the website. Ended up waiting an hour and 20 mins. The part that put me over the top though was watching a couple come in that was a party of 6 with 4 of the party not there yet .They were quoted an hour but then found the manager they know. It was the guy manager on Friday 5/1. The manager looked around and then told them "let me see what I can do". This couple with 4 people still not even here waited five minutes and were sat before us. Absolutely ridiculous to sit someone because you know them while I hold my kid in my arms over an hour past our quoted wait times. Their "solution", a free appetizer.

Unfortunately after our last two visits here I had to hop on and give some feedback. I’ll start with the good, the food and drinks are incredible, the menu has a lot of variety and everything has always been cooked well and the portions are large. However, we were unfortunately stuck with the same server, Gigi, on our last two visits, Valentine’s Day and again 4/24. If we ever come back we’ll have to specially make sure we ask for someone else. Gigi was kind, but that did not make up for her horrible service.
We watched multiple other tables be seated after us, and served drinks and food before our orders were even asked for. A dinner that should’ve taken an hour or so took over two. To start, we were seated, got waters after 15 minutes, which were never refilled. Our drinks took 30 mins to arrive at very different paces, a beer specifically taking longer than everything else, I’m not sure if she refuses to go check on the drinks on pour them herself, but it was ridiculous. When she brought them after we had been sitting there an hour, she didn’t even ask if we were ready to order, she just left, and we had to flag her down to order. Which was nearly impossible to do because she would disappear. After we ate, we wanted to try the soft serve margaritas, we finally caught her to order those, which took 25 mins to make it to the table, for premade soft serve margaritas. Now we’re running late for our next outing we booked and paid for, and have to flag her down for the check. And we’re even able to finish those because we were in a rush. Waste of money. When she brings us the receipt, at the end of the entire meal, was the first time she ever asked if we needed more waters. Not during dinner, not before we paid, not when she took the card, after she brought us the receipt… absolutely ruined the experience, we were all incredibly upset about our money spent. When we first had her on Valentines, we chalked that up to a bad day and a busy rush, but now we know better and will not be returning for awhile.
I am giving this a one star review, mainly because of the lack of service from the bartender Cobie. This past Thursday, my friend and I sat at the bar to have a drink and dinner. We had the pleasure of having Cobie as our bartender who is not very attentive. We got our drinks, which were good. We ordered an appetizer. However, trying to order dinner was a nightmare. Cobie was extremely slow to take our dinner order. We let him know that we were ready to order dinner. About 20 or 25 minutes later - seemed like forever— we finally got to order. We also asked for more chips and he said he would get them right out. Another 20 minutes or so later I ended up asking ANOTHER person for them.
Sitting right in front of him watching him make drinks and running around like a chicken without a head, there were quite a few times that he complained about others (assuming employees) based on how he was talking. My biggest complaint is that even though we were sitting literally right in front of him, his lack of service and communication with us was very disappointing!! I could tell the manager was getting frustrated as he kept watching him as well. Especially after several drinks were lined up at the end of the bar he told the manager that they for runners to pick up on two different occasions.
Yes I voiced an opinion/question to the other bartender who was not behind the bar as he served us on a previous time.
Topping of the cake was when Cobie handed the bill to my friend and said “I have ears too in the bar.”
Cobie- you may have ears—but I have too, have ears; as well as eyes and hospitality (bartending and service) experience.
I regret that I didn’t grab the manager and speak to him as he was standing right there.
As for the food, it was good- no complaints there.
***Not surprised that a couple of reviews posted two days ago about said person were 4 star reviews- however given by individuals that have less than 5 reviews posted in all. 😮
