Here visiting from out of town. I went through the express lane. The cashier‘s name is Henry when I tell you this was the best customer service I have had in a while, very professional, very friendly very helpful. When I am back in the Waco area. I will definitely come back to this location, simply because of this young man. He could definitely teach a course on how customer service should be.

This is the best HEB in Waco. It has a great variety of fresh food and the shopping experience is nice and frictionless. I wish the parking lot was nicer though.

Convience vs. customer service dichotomy... I love my HEB, great department managers, usually friendly cashiers, typically a well stocked bakery...Basically what we all have come to expect from HEB/CM stores. This store seems to be changing, not necessarily an indictment on this store, just not the same in-store experience it used to have. During busy hours this store is sometimes difficult to navigate, when you add a dozen or more employees shopping to-go or curbside orders with massive carts it becomes impossible. During my last visit another customer and I stood there waiting while an employee was getting items for their order. Also, some of these employees spend a lot of time talking to one another, and no that's not a one time opinion. It's every single visit. In two years at this store I only had one employee actually find an item in the stock room. It's usually "we're sold out", "I don't work in dairy" or mostly just an agnostic attitude towards customer service, which should be their main priority. My wife and I decided to test the empty shelf epidemic at this store using three items that are popular and usually low stock from our experience...while I was in the store, my wife had the HEB app open and ordered a curbside pickup with the items listed below. All were "in stock" and delivered to our car less than 2.5 hours after my trip. 1) Sprite Zero 8oz cans- I asked an employee if he could check the back, he immediately stated that vendors stock that and walked off. Wife added to cart, and miraculously we got it for curbside. 2) HEB branded strawberry yogurt- Employee actually went to the back and couldn't find it, when I said my wife is adding it to our curbside she said there's a truck that hasn't been unloaded so it's probably why. Celsius orange 4 pack- This was my favorite test case. When I asked the employee if this was available in the back she replied "doubt it" and put her earbuds back in and walked off. Another item we received via curbside later. Overall it seems the in-store experience is total garbage, if you can hit your revenue projections and not have to bother with customer service I guess I can't blame them. If the goal is to have a customer experience similar to HEB's other brand I would suggest some serious CS training and mentoring. Apologies for the long post, I try and collect fact based data and not allow emotional distortion affect my responses. I hope things improve....
