Portillo’s is a staple for our West Chico based family. Been eating there since we were kids. Portillo’s was the only thing we missed about Chicago when moving to Texas. Now that they are popping up around town we couldn’t be happier. Check them out. You’ll like it.

First time there with my son, but he'd been a few times. Great burger and perfect fries...crisp on the outside and firm but softer inside, and salted RIGHT! All the condiments served w/the burger were fresh like tomatoes, onion, lettuce, just a great fresh taste! And the Strawberry shake was WONDERFUL! Pieces of real strawberry!

Their onion rings are incredible… crispy and tasty every time. Shakes are excellent too, especially the seasonal lemon cake and strawberries one they have right now. And today Niyah provided memorable service even though my order was to go; she thought of and offered everything I might need for my order: spoon and straw for my shake, ketchup packets for the onion rings, and a bag with handles to make it easier to carry. Truly appreciated her great attitude, customer service, and friendly approach!

Be careful if you have dietary restrictions! I ordered the chopped salad and let the cashier know I cannot digest dairy, so I asked for No Gorgonzola. Half way thru I tasted some and found a few chunks at the bottom. The manager gave me a refund and told me they use a premixed bowl. Apparently, they sift out ingredients customers don’t want, unless you state it is an Allergy. It would be better if they just kept the toppings separate from the lettuce mix, and add them upon ordering.

Update to review below: Well, the drive through now is crap. Waited 20 MINUTES for a #3 on a Thursday evening around 5:30PM. I sent their corporate folks a message and they are working on it and "sorry about my experience" and all that. Well, I won't know if they fix it because I'm not wasting my money there. When CFA opens next door, it will destroy this place. Such a shame because they put a lot of money into the building and layout, but I never see hardly anyone in the parking lot. They should sell why it is still new and take the loss. Prior review below: I think our dine-in experience was the opposite of the drive-through experience we have had since this location opened. Some restaurants seem to do better at one or the other, but few both. It's weird since it's the same restaurant, same people, same food, same machines, same roof, etc... Our drive-through experience has been 100% dead on. No issue with misunderstood orders, or missing items, etc... On the other hand, the dine-in experience, which was our first time to dine-in, was 180 degrees from this. In summary, 3 of us ordered, 1 order was totally missed and the other order was completely wrongly by adding condiments when asked not to, etc.... Additionally, as I ate my burger, I was facing the order counter and noticed 2 more people have issues with their food, etc.... Some was up in Denmark that day for sure. In terms of the management to "make things right" offered a free meal for the next visit. Always on the come...you have to fight to get comped anymore and this is coming from owners, not managers because they NEVER want to give that cash back. The quality of the food is good enough for what you expect at a place like this and actually was better than a Freddy's, or similar place that would be a direct competitor. At the end of the day, training, training, training is key. Owners are trying to make as much money as possible doing as little as possible and it honestly shows. They don't spend enough time and money on training and they short staff all the time and it is always noticeable. This place just opened and I already notice this. At least Freddy's down the road held the line for about a year before they went scorched-earth and decided to embark upon the ubiquitous "shrinkflation" modus operandi which led us to stop going there for good. At this point, we'll probably just do drive-through as the resources and training seem either more in tune with that part of the operation, or this restaurant is just getting lucky.
