We’ve never actually dined at the restaurant, but as “bar people,” we love to hang out at the bar, order drinks, appetizers, and dinner, but at our own pace. Bartenders are usually busy filling drink orders for the entire restaurant and appreciate that we are not demanding and just willing to go with the flow. We enjoy each and every evening that we spend at the Saltgrass bar, the servers are wonderful, the bartender charming and yes, the food is delicious and varied. Try it, you’ll love ~ just don’t go on OUR night because the bar is not that big!

The bar was completely empty, easy to get into, and the staff seemed friendly at first. I ordered a beer and a whiskey, only to be told I couldn’t have the shot until I finished my beer. I’ve never been to a bar where an adult is told they can’t enjoy a whiskey alongside a beer. Sipping whiskey with a beer is pretty common, but apparently not here. After the other bartender asked how my day was and I mentioned how annoyed I was by the situation, I was suddenly “allowed” to order the shot. So the rule either wasn’t real or was selectively enforced. That experience made no sense and completely ruined what should have been a relaxing stop after work. Looking around, I can understand why the bar was empty while the restaurant was packed. Unfortunately, I won’t be back.
