  I grew up in Chicago eating Portillo’s, so I was genuinely excited when Portillo’s finally came to the Houston area. Unfortunately, my experiences at the Stafford location have been extremely disappointing. This location is nothing like the Portillo’s I grew up with. What makes it even more frustrating is that when I go back home to Chicago, the food still tastes exactly the way I remember it—the same quality, flavor, and consistency. At Stafford, my food has repeatedly been cold or lukewarm, orders are frequently missing items, and my order is often prepared incorrectly. My most recent visit was the final straw. I ordered my favorite sandwich: beef and cheese on a croissant with cheese sauce and sweet & hot peppers. When I went back because it wasn’t prepared correctly, the manager argued with me and told me there was “no way” I ordered it that way because they don’t make it like that. That was incredibly frustrating because I order this exact sandwich whenever I’m home in Chicago, and they make it for me. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable—I simply wanted my order corrected. I was eventually told I would have to pay $1 for the cheese sauce, which I had no problem doing. The problem was the attitude and the refusal to simply listen to the customer. I decided to eat the sandwich in my car rather than drive another 20 minutes home, only to discover another problem: there was barely any cheese sauce and the beef was lukewarm. At this point, I really think corporate needs to take a serious look at this location, including food temperatures, food quality, order accuracy, and customer service. And honestly, this is not a review from someone who wants Portillo’s to fail. Quite the opposite. I LOVE Portillo’s. I was thrilled to have a little piece of Chicago here in Houston, and I would be genuinely sad if this location ever closed. Please fix the Stafford location. I want the Portillo’s I grew up loving. ❤️🌭

  We have to drive through Houston and make sure to stop at Portillo’s in Stafford every time, both ways!!! Service has always been great and the beefs are delicious! 🤤 so delicious that we buy extras and put them in a cooler to take back! There’s a manager there, she’s always so friendly and helpful which makes the trip even more amazing!! She goes above and beyond! See you next month (I hope!)

  I ordered a sandwich and didn’t get it the way I wanted the first time I contacted the store manager she replaced my sandwich And gave me a discount card I received my sandwich and it was so excellent And The young man that was taking my order was so helpful and you can tell they really value their customers shout out to the manager, Stephanie and the cashier Leo

  We were traveling to the area and were so excited to find out this portillos was right down the road from our hotel. We hadn’t had portillos since we erected in IL! We ordered food and when we got to the pick up area realized we forgot to order the cake shake. We were so sad and my husband made a joke to the employee on duty. Leslie was so sweet! She told us to wait a moment, 2 mins later she was back with our milkshake! Great customer service! I would go back just for Leslie! She made our day! Wonderful experience and delicious food!

  Had gravy bread a few months ago and was not impressed. Though I may have not given them a fair shake since my order was so small. Went back and ordered a beef dipped in juice and was okay, but not special, honestly reminiscent of gravy bread with meat. Fine but not worth going back for. Fries were excellent and seasoned well. The person in charge of telling you that your food was ready was having a good time.
