I have a large family, and H-E-B has always been my go-to grocery store because I trust the quality of your fresh and organic produce, meat, and, especially, the level of customer service H-E-B is known for. Unfortunately, my experience on August 1 did not reflect that standard. I had a very full basket and had spent over $500 on groceries for my family. As my groceries were being bagged, one of the baggers was preparing to clock out. In front of me, he laughingly told another bagger, Adam, that Adam would have to do my carry-out because he was leaving. Adam responded by shaking his head and saying no, in a manner that came across as disgusted and unwilling to assist me. This conversation took place directly in front of me while I was standing there as the customer. The cashier, Cailynn, later asked if I needed help carrying my groceries out. At that point, I declined. After hearing two employees discuss who did not want to assist me, I felt like I was a burden to them and no longer felt comfortable accepting the help. When I reached my vehicle, my mother asked why I had not received assistance with such a large amount of groceries. After I explained what happened, she went back inside and spoke with a manager, Isaac. Isaac came outside, apologized, listened to what happened, and he and Adam assisted with loading my groceries into my vehicle. I appreciate Isaac for taking my concern seriously and addressing the situation immediately. My concern is not simply that I initially did not receive a carry-out. My concern is the way the employees openly discussed, in front of a customer, that they did not want to provide the assistance. After spending more than $500 of my hard-earned money to purchase groceries for my family, being made to feel like helping me was an inconvenience was extremely disappointing and inconsistent with the customer service I have come to expect from H-E-B. I am bringing this to corporate's attention because I believe additional training and coaching are needed. Employees should understand that conversations expressing frustration or unwillingness to assist a customer should never take place in front of that customer. No customer should leave H-E-B feeling embarrassed, unwanted, or like a burden for needing assistance with their groceries. I have continued to trust H-E-B because of the quality and service your company represents, and I hope this situation can be used as an opportunity to reinforce those standards so another customer does not have the same experience.

I don't know what needs to be said about HEB. It's darn near perfection. They've got such a great selection of store brand items that are just as good (sometimes better) than the original. Staff is always friendly and helpful. We get our prescriptions filled here too and the pharmacy has been fantastic. Store is clean, organized. Overall, no real complaints.

The chilled mandarin oranges were a refreshing win after the Cowboys game tonight. The food is great, but let’s be honest, I am definitely the best thing in this place. If you are a cute guy who wants to see if you can keep up, you know what to do.
