Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

- SRSalvador RosalesAug 21, 20265.0The one thing that I like besides the food. The fact that the music isn’t blaring out so loud you can’t hear the person in front of you. This is one of my favorite Whataburger restaurants. The staff is real helpful. The staff is young but respectful. This is one is the few Whataburger restaurants that the employees don’t use profanity as if it were a bar. Good management so far.

However, two recent incidents, including this morning, have turned me completely off to the point of we will be taking our business elsewhere. Seems like this Whataburger has decided to test the waters as to just exactly how MUCH customers are willing to let be Rounded Off. This morning for the 2nd time in about 2 weeks, this Whataburger pulls this New Scam: They shamelessly just up and claim that they "Have NO CHANGE." As in NO COINS PERIOD! How convenient. The 1st time that they pulled this on me, I was caught sooo completely off guard and must have been so hungry that I just let it go. But, when this was pulled on me AGAIN this morning, this time I wasn't having it. I told the Cashier that this was becoming a HABIT and I was NOT doing this. That they should be prepared for this. I took my $20 back and went to the nearby McDonald's. Think about it: If it's NO Biggie to just up and have the nerve to suggest that customers let the Whataburger HAVE whatever coins they would have also had coming as change ... why doesn't the Whataburger round the change UP and give customers the extra Full Dollar? Doesn't feel so good, does it? This Scam / Stunt feels like a Quota Extortion or at the extreme least --- a Forced TIP. Nice Profit Racket you have going.
