- JVJacky VillanuevaSep 2, 20265.0This location specifically, has just served me the best spicy chicken sandwich i’ve ever had. genuinely. my homegirl and i came from austin to pick something up from the ikea down the street, and our plans to eat after were spontaneous. i said “hey, lets go to chick fil a!” expecting a simple meal like always. but when i took my first bite of my sandwich, i was emerged with the memories of my first ever chick fil a sandwich. i remembered why i LOVE chick fil a. when i get it anywhere else in austin, im like yeah that was alright. simple, necessary. chick fil a is always a safe space for food, but today it was home. idk what they doing in that kitchen but it truly was such a great meal. they put like 5 sauces in my bag and i used every single one. fries were crispy, drink was filled with ice. i was mid sandwich and thought “wow i still have a lot more left.” thank you so much to this san antonio location for gifting me the experience of this chick fil a sandwich.

Unfortunately, my experience at the Forum location today was extremely disappointing. The woman taking my order through the drive-thru microphone was incredibly rude. She repeatedly cut me off while I was trying to order and even got my name wrong. The interaction felt unnecessarily rushed and disrespectful from the beginning. When I got to the window, the woman handing out the orders didn’t speak to me at all. There was no greeting, no communication, and the overall attitude was extremely rude. I then had to wait an additional five minutes because they had forgotten my shakes. The worst part is that I drove 45 minutes home, only to open my food and realize they gave me the completely wrong meal. I ordered expecting a normal meal and instead received a chicken biscuit with pickles. It’s not even breakfast time, so I genuinely don’t understand how this happened. I hadn’t eaten all day and was already hungry, so getting home after a long drive and finding out my order was wrong was incredibly frustrating. Mistakes happen, but the combination of the rude service, being ignored, waiting extra time for items that were forgotten, and ultimately receiving the wrong food made this a really awful experience. I am a loyal Chick-fil-A customer, which is why I’m especially disappointed. I expect better service and accuracy from a company that I normally trust to provide both. I really hope management addresses what happened at this location because customers should not leave feeling this frustrated and disrespected.

On Saturday, August 22, I spoke with Tasha, the head manager, about an employee stationed outside during extreme heat. Temperatures in the Selma area reached approximately 103°F, with a heat index of approximately 107–109°F, and a Heat Advisory was in effect. The employee was visibly drenched in sweat. Although he had an umbrella and fan, the sun had shifted and was shining directly toward his face. At that angle, the umbrella was no longer adequately shielding him from direct sunlight. He also had no hat or eye protection. I specifically brought these conditions to Tasha's attention. She explained that employees are rotated approximately every 30 minutes and are brought inside once the temperature reaches 110°F, stating that below that temperature they "can work outside." My concern was not whether company policy technically allows employees to work outside below 110°F. Heat-related illness does not suddenly begin at 110°F. Heat stress depends on multiple factors, including temperature, humidity, direct sunlight, physical activity, hydration, acclimatization, and duration of exposure. An air temperature of approximately 103°F also does not fully represent what someone may experience while standing in direct sunlight, particularly when the heat index is already approaching 110°F. I appreciate that this location has precautions such as an umbrella, fan, and rotations. However, safety measures should be evaluated based on whether they are actually protecting the employee under the conditions at that moment. In this situation, I was specifically pointing out that the changing position of the sun had reduced the protection provided by the umbrella. What concerned me further was Tasha's response. I did not feel that she meaningfully considered what I was bringing to her attention. A good manager does not have to agree with every concern raised, but an employee safety concern should at minimum be acknowledged and evaluated rather than dismissed simply because the temperature has not reached a particular cutoff. When I asked for Chick-fil-A's corporate contact information so I could raise the matter at a higher level, I also felt Tasha became defensive rather than simply providing the information professionally. I was not trying to create a problem or tell management how to run the restaurant. I was advocating for a worker whose conditions genuinely concerned me. Employees are human beings, and extreme heat is a legitimate occupational safety issue. I sincerely hope Chick-fil-A reviews both its extreme-heat practices and how safety concerns are handled by management. Employee health and safety should come before convenience.
