  Very impressed with the international selections, great prices & deals throughout the store! The parking lot was packed & intimidating but the lines were very reasonable and the inside didn’t feel crowded at all. All of the associates seemed glad to help and offer assistance if needed as well. Although this isn’t the closest HEB to me it will be my go to!

  I went straight to the BBQ spot. Because, BBQ. The turkey sandwich tasted pretty good, a bit dry, but good. The pulled pork was juicy and tasty. Pickles and onions are an option on all the sandwiches. There are bottles of BBQ sauce if needed. They serve beers here. The beers are on tap with a frosty pint glass. Tried a Shiner, it was awesome. Total came out to about $15. Overall, 8 out of 10. Definitely will come back. **just finished shopping. Prices are the same as the other HEBs, but everything is fresh. The meat market is freakin awesome! The store is clean and accessible. Going from an 8 to a 9. Definitely worth a visit.

  Enjoyed the BBQ restaurant inside the new HEB (on McCarty) yesterday - opening day. The store itself is incredible, and is like the one on Nutty Brown in Dripping (which opened right after we moved from there). Anyway, thoughts about the restaurant: We ordered from the kiosk and while it was generally well organized, I ended up ordering a pulled pork sandwich instead of brisket. The pulled pork was very good, but I would've preferred it with no sauce so I could add what I wanted (for me, it had too much). The queso was just so so - too salty and too much cheese soup mix. I probably won't get it again unless they improve it. You can tell if a queso doesn't have much cheese if it doesn't thicken as it cools. This didn't. The loaded mac 'n cheese (which I was excited to try) was a total miss for me. It was loaded with their pulled pork which had a lot of sauce on it - givng the mac 'n cheese a sweet flavor which was very unappealing for me. The mac 'n cheese by itself was good and would be very good with the pulled pork if they'd just lose the sauce! Mac 'n cheese should be a savory dish no matter how you dress it. We got a free banana pudding for buying a lot of stuff. It was good - the flavor was spot on - but the pudding itself was just a bit runny. But the sandwiches were a hit, so we'll be back for those. But I do hope they'll at least add the option to lose the sauce.

  The new H-E-B is a great addition to San Marcos! The store is huge, and with how much the city is growing, it feels like something we really needed. I loved all the Halloween decor, and the free samples and flowers during the grand opening were a nice touch. I brought my Pentax IQZoom loaded with Kodacolor 100 to capture the store. The colorful displays and seasonal decor made this a great store to visit. Plus, San Marcos Film Lab is only about 10 minutes away, so getting the roll developed was convenient! Will be coming back, thank you HEB!

  The interior of this brand new location is absolutely beautiful and incredibly well-organized. They have an amazing selection of items across every department, making it easy to find both everyday essentials and unique specialty goods. What stood out the most was the excellent customer service—the store is fully staffed with friendly employees who are eager to help. A fantastic addition to the community!
