Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Whataburger. I ended up waiting over 34 minutes for my order, which is completely unacceptable for a fast food restaurant. When I finally received my food, it definitely wasn’t worth the wait. The chicken sandwich was subpar at best—nothing special and honestly pretty underwhelming. To make things worse, the fries were half cooked and barely edible.
On top of the long wait and poor food quality, the service was lacking. There didn’t seem to be any sense of urgency or organization from the staff, and no acknowledgment of the excessive delay. Overall, this visit was frustrating from start to finish, and it’s hard to justify coming back after such a poor experience.

Ordered, curbside. Wanted to be in and out. Was a simple salad and drink, no customization. Waited past the time. Guy forgot the drink. Then went back in to get it. Then I checked my order and it was wrong. Saw the manager sitting down. So I told him my order was wrong and he corrected me. I told him I always get a salad and it never has bacon. He said said a Cobb salad has bacon, then he realized I ordered a garden. Then goes and fixes it and says here you go. No apology and I was way passed the time by now. My order number was 2088245.

My husband and I went to what burger for lunch and week and a half ago. I ordered a gyro....that was the nastiest tasting gyro I had ever had. I asked the management what kind of meat they used for their gyros and they replied "a lamb and beef mixture". Number one....Real gyros use pure lamb meat, not a mixture of anything and not imitation meat. Number two...that sounds called mixture whataburger used tasted nothing like lamb or beef...it was absolutely disgusting! And I love Real gyros!

After placing our order through the drive thru, we were told to move forward to wait for our food beyond the windows after paying. We didn’t receive a receipt and were told to move up to the excess parking to wait for our order. We watched countless cars pass through the drive thru and the girl running food kept running up to us asking different names for orders, none of which were ours. After about 20 minutes of this happening we told the girl running a bunch of different orders to us to check on our order. Each time she came out with a different order and we watched each other car drive off. Two other workers came out on separate occasions and asked what we had, we waited another 20 minutes to which we finally got the food, which was burnt and gross. The employee who brought the food out said “I threw in a couple of brownies” like we hadn’t been waiting there for so long. They finally sent the manager out, James, which said “I can give a refund but I need to take the food back because the food has only been rang in for 20 minutes” which I’m thinking was rang in after the fact by one of the employees that came out to ask what we had ordered. Terrible customer service and they really need to get it together. 40 minutes for drive thru food…

Service has fallen off HARD, this is usually my go-to wb just because it's super close to my job and on my way home, but almost every time I come here the food takes forever. I don't mind waiting most times, I get it especially when it's busy, but there are times I'll literally be the only person in the drive thru and they still have me waiting almost 10m for my food. This past visit the girl in the window had to have been having a bad day, because she cut me off when I was trying to order and also gave me kind of a lot of attitude for asking for applesauce with my order :/ I don't usually write reviews like this but this was kind of insane. I'm not expecting stellar customer service from a fast food place but this was just all around a poor experience.
