  Dissapointing experience! Went shopping at HEB and then decided to grab a quick dinner at True Texas BBQ before heading home. We order to eat at the restaurant. After waiting 30mins for our order, I went to check on it only to be told they gave the order away to someone else, which I found odd as we ordered it for dine in, so that tells me they packed it to go and gave it away or they just didn't make it at all. We were told they'd remake it. 20 mins we were given our meal to go though we ordered dine in. I clearly told that to the person who handed me our order. At that point we just decided to leave with our order as we had cold items from HEB in our car. By the time we got home, everything had cooled and the fresh taste was no longer there. We felt very let down by this experience! Our cashier was Serenity who was very nice but as soon as we completed our order, she was ordered to switch with another employee. I feel during that transition is where our order was messed up.

  I came by today and got the one meat plate with two sides but I didn’t think they literally meant one meat, literally one piece of brisket. We each got the one meat plate and each of us got literally only one piece of brisket. I was very shocked because we paid $51.00 and felt like we got robbed. (See attached photos) I was thinking surely it was a mistake but everyone I saw walking by only had one strip of meat as well. Food is good but meat portions is ridiculous. I would say at least two pieces would be fine but one?!? Crazy. Don’t think I’ll be back, I can go to Castroville bbq and pay the same price and get more meat.

  Awesome business! The other bbq places should be ASHAMED of the small portions their putting out! Not True Texas BBQ. Portions are how bbq portions are supposed. Great food as well. Stop wasting your bbq craving with these other losers, True Texas BBQ has my stamp!

  This is one of my favorite barbecue places in San Antonio,Ethan and his staff always take good care of of myself and other customers, all of the staff keep smiles on their face and as a good attitude, even when there’s customers that come in that are cranky and not happy

  Purchased brisket plate and rib plate. Rib plate - good size thick meaty tender ribs not moist to fall off bone but satisfying and fresh coleslaw with cranberry was very delicious. Brisket (fatty)plate - 2 longs strips of should be marble by but was actually dry and less fatty. Brisket portion is generous. Mac n cheese okay and creamed corn the bomb. Brisket was too dry.
