  We had dinner yesterday for my son’s birthday, we were a party of 10 , so I don’t know if because the gratuity was automatically included but our server was horrible! We had reservations for 8 so it wasn’t super late and we ate on the patio. He wouldn’t come check on us for long periods of time and was rude. I ordered my steak med well and it came med rare they said they’d correct it (not our server because he never even came to ask if everything was ok) and it came back well well done. We tried to be so nice and understanding because to be fair the food runners were actually nice and attentive. I was just over it and declined my plate after all because my family was already done eating by the time they brought my food back. I always loved Saltgrass and loved eating on the Riverwalk but will never go back. It was that bad tonight. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

  We started off with a salad. You can see in my picture there was some lettuce that was brown. Everyone at our table had this issue. The blue cheese dressing didn't have any chunks in it. That was a disappointment. My husband got the boneless rib eye. he said it was ok. I got the filet and it was seasoned nicely. We both got the smoked Mac & cheese. It was good not something I would rave about like other reviews. We sat outside so that we could hear each other talk. It is nice sitting outside. The only issue was the pigeons that walk around under your table. We had a friend from TX that told us they weren't the best steak here. He is a cattle farmer. We maybe should have taken his recommendation. It wasn't bad it just wasn't great.

  The epitome of unsatisfactory was found here on Sunday, 7 June 2026. The source of the unpleasant experience was the ribeye filet ordered to be cooked "medium." When the steak arrived, it was overcooked to a well-done temperature. My lover and I then ordered the same steak (to-go) this time, since we had another engagement to attend. Before departing with my to-go steak, I checked the center of the steak, only to find that it was well done as well (see attached).

  So I hardly ever do a negative review but I was so taken aback dining here I feel the need to share my experience. First I will say the drink I ordered was delicious. The Lucky Penny. So good. I ordered the sampler platter and was told they could do the jalapeno poppers grilled instead of fried but when they came out they were fried. They were still good but was disappointed in that the waiter didn’t ask if I wanted to change my order. I had my food for about 10 minutes when he came by to ask how everything was and asked if I would be needing a box. I said eventually yes I will. He came right out and wanted to box up my food. I asked if he needed my table and why I wasn’t being allowed to relax and enjoy my food. I saw another table get completely cleaned up while the man was in the restroom. The waitress caught him as he was just wiping the table off. Seemed they weren’t communicating and things were off. The food wasn’t good enough that I would return unfortunately

  We had a party of 8 we wanted to sit out side so thw firt hostees was very nice to put 2 table together but the 2nd assistant manager made it seem like a big deal almost like we should be here outside. Next they finally came our drink orders and when the came back they were all in 6oz paper cups and said they rsn out of glasses that would have given us 8 to 10ozs. Right behind that server 2 other servers came out with coctails in glasses for their tables???? Next the food waa taking for ever, we got there a little late around 8:30PM But 9:30 we decided to leave, and juat pay foe our drinks. Thats when the mean assistant manager swinging in enforcing us to pay full bill and we can take the food to go!! So we waites another 20mis and took it back to our hotel and at the end of thw day it was not worth the wait or price we will not be back. The best part was the sight sitting on the river walk waiting for dinner.
