  This was my first visit to this location, and even though things weren't bad, they definitely weren't great, so I'm going with a 3-star "It's okay" rating. Our server was attentive and fantastic, but the food only tasted okay. We ordered the Tenderloin Bites appetizer to get started - the flavor was there, and the garlic butter 'dip' they are served with was great, but they were not as tender and juicy as I hoped, expected, and would have liked. My wife got a sirloin - it wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. I had the ribs - they were also only okay. I'm not all about presentation or anything, I definitely care more about how the food tastes than how it looks on my plate, but the presentation of the food was pretty subpar for a "steakhouse". The tenderloin bites appetizer was plated nicely. The Sirloin, ribs, and sides though? Just thrown onto our plates with reckless abandon. It wasn't off-putting, and it didn't make the food taste worse, but when I am dishing out $75+ for what I expect to be a solid dining experience with my wife on a rare night out without the kids, it definitely diminished the experience and desire to return. The most unfortunate part of the visit was this though: the staff had put 2 tables together to accommodate a larger group. As my wife and I were sitting there, we started noticing a slow drip from the A/C ducts, and it was dropping down in the empty zone where the other table normally sits. The large group left, the servers separated the tables, and they put the other table right under the drip. We called over the manager, maybe the assistant manager, and let her know there was a steady, but slow drip coming down above that table. She said "Ohh no, that's not good." and proceeded to scoot the table over a few inches and walked away. The table was now awkwardly close to 2 other tables nearby - I wouldn't want to dine at that table. And now the drip was just going to possibly hit whoever was sitting at a specific chair at that table. I don't feel like it's a super unhygienic thing, so I'm not put off by that entirely. I mean, stuff happens and people need time to respond to things and they should be allotted a grace time to try and fix it. But at the same time, if I got hit with that drip while I was at that table? I'd be walking out. And if I had already ordered and had my food in front of me? Definitely walking out without paying. All in all, thankfully the food did have good flavor and we were able to eat and enjoy mostly all of it. And again, the service was top-notch stuff. But the circumstances as a whole definitely make the thought of visiting this Saltgrass in the future less desirable.

  The food was amazing. The steaks were cooked perfectly. Our waitress didn't check on us very often though

  Me and my boyfriend’s first time here, we felt very welcomed by Ryan. He explained the menu well, the prices and our options. Great customer service, and he definitely is one of the reasons we will keep coming back to saltgrass.

  It's funny. This location is right next door to another steakhouse. We found the food atmosphere and service was by far better here at saltgrass than at the other. Broccoli and steak was cooked to perfection. The rub/seasoning they used tasted phenomenal! The service was good. If we are ever back in San Antonio, will be back. I wish we would have known about the military discount. And I didn't know about it until I read some of the other reviews. My son was in his airman uniform. I would have thought they would have offered it automatically, which is a bummer that they didn't. I marked them down from five stars to three stars for the service because of it, and mark them down from five stars to four stars overall.
