I had never had such a bad experience with Venezuelan food. Maybe this place is very good at preparing Colombian or Mexican food, but based on what I tried, I would not recommend it for Venezuelan food.
I ordered a traditional Venezuelan chicha, and honestly, it tasted nothing like chicha. It was more like horchata.
I also ordered a cachapa with pork. The cachapa was small, stiff, and flavorless, and tasted more like a pancake with food coloring than an actual cachapa. The amount of pork was so small that it looked more like a garnish on the plate. On top of that, the cachapa itself was hot, but the cheese inside was refrigerator-cold.
I ordered four tequeños as well, and unfortunately, they weren’t any better. They didn’t taste good, and even the cheese inside was cold.
Before ordering, I asked the person who served me whether they specialized more in Venezuelan or Colombian food because I wanted some guidance on what would be best to order. She simply told me they made both because the cooks were Colombian and Venezuelan, but she didn’t really offer any recommendation or help guide me toward what they do best.
This is simply my personal experience and my impression based on what I ordered. Maybe some of their other dishes are good, but if someone is trying Venezuelan food for the first time, I would not want them to leave thinking this is what authentic Venezuelan food is supposed to taste like, because in my experience, it absolutely was not.
