  I love this Jimmy Johns location. It is located by SAC, so it is frequently visited by college students trying to get a meal; I have a few fond memories of getting out of classes at 12:00PM and grabbing a bite to eat before my next class only to run into a someone I knew attending!(Also, they do offer student discounts for those attending SAC) My partner and I both swear by the #12 Beach clubs(I’m very partial to the avocados 😋). My partner also says that the #5 Vito is really good. So, if you are indecisive about what to get, I would certainly recommend one of the two. The location does a really good job at delivering a welcoming atmosphere and a very enjoyable vibe. There are really goofy signs displayed all throughout the store, and the staff is really sweet. Today, I was greeted at the register by Valerie, and she had a very nice and welcoming demeanor. She even demonstrated above-and-beyond customer service by bringing the food to our table. Mind you, I’ve been there a few times and I can’t remember the last time(if any) someone directly brought our food to us. So, definitely a big shoutout to Valerie! 🫶🫶🫶 Definitely come here, especially if you’re in the area and want a bite to eat! Don’t even think about going to that rundown subway across the street 😂

  Food was ok, staff was a bit rude, very small atmosphere but it was ok to get us out of the heat and a bite to eat

  I’ve been coming to this Jimmy John’s for a while, and while the sandwiches are consistent, the atmosphere has become really uncomfortable lately. It seems like there is a lot of tension behind the counter, especially with the management. I’ve frequently noticed the GM Valerie getting visibly frustrated and snapping at the staff over the smallest things. It’s particularly bad when it’s busy; instead of leading the team through the rush, she seems to get stressed and takes it out on everyone working. I’ve overheard her making negative comments to the employees about being 'too slow' or not making sandwiches perfectly, even when they are clearly doing their best. One day she seems fine, and the next day the energy is totally negative. It’s a shame because the team is only human and I always see they’re working hard, but the management style makes the whole shop feel like a toxic environment. I hope they can improve the culture here because it’s getting harder to support a place that treats its people this way. :(

  WARNING--If you’re visiting the Jimmy John's at 1700 N. Main Ave, DO NOT park across the street. Bexar Towing trolls the area and will immediately tow your car. I was parked for less than 5 minutes and my car was taken literally from under my nose. I rushed out to move it but the tow driver ignored me and drove off!
