I’m disappointed with my recent experience at H-E-B. One of my produce items was accidentally left out of my bags, and I didn’t notice until I got home while unpacking my groceries. I called the store to let them know, and I was told that the item wasn’t left behind at the register, so they would have to check the cameras to determine whether it was actually given to me. I understand wanting to verify what happened, but having to review camera footage over one missing produce item seems excessive and made the situation much more frustrating than it needed to be. Mistakes happen, especially when checking out and bagging groceries. I would have appreciated a simpler and more customer-friendly way of handling the situation rather than making me feel like I had to prove that I didn’t receive an item I paid for.

Store is always a clean, it’s smaller than other stores but still carries nice variety. Love that it’s right off the highway

I am beyond disappointed and extremely upset with the way I was treated at this H-E-B. This was, without a doubt, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was having trouble with my WIC card, and instead of treating me with respect and helping me resolve the issue, the managers made me feel like I was trying to steal. The manager even told me that he was in a group chat with other managers asking them how to process my transaction because he didn’t know how to do it himself. I was shocked. If you’re a manager, you should know how to handle situations like this, especially when customer service is already closed. There was no one else available to help, and instead of finding a solution, I was left standing there feeling embarrassed and frustrated. To make matters worse, I purchased brownies that were clearly part of a buy one, get one free promotion. An employee even helped me locate the coupon, but the manager refused to honor it, and I was charged incorrectly. That is completely unacceptable. I also asked if my children could have tickets to play on the Buddy machine. They told me yes, but never gave them the tickets. What upset me the most was the way the employees acted throughout the entire situation. It appeared that several members of the staff were messaging each other while looking in our direction, which made me feel singled out and judged. Then, as we were leaving, employees were waiting by the exit to check only our receipt. I did not see the same happening to other customers leaving the store. Whether that was the intention or not, it made my family and me feel like we were being treated differently simply because I was having an issue with my WIC card. I will not let this slide. I expect H-E-B Corporate to investigate this incident thoroughly, including why a manager had to ask other managers through a group chat how to complete a basic transaction after customer service had already closed, why I was charged incorrectly despite having a valid promotion, and why my family was made to feel singled out during our visit. No customer should ever leave a grocery store feeling humiliated, judged, or embarrassed while simply trying to buy groceries for their family. I expect to hear back from someone regarding this matter, and I will continue pursuing a resolution until it is addressed appropriately.
