  First of all I'm definitely HEB biggest fan. Moved here from Los Angeles a year to date for the atmosphere the people and HEB. I found out Central market was part of HEB it was a wrap! I fell in love whole foods trader Joe's lost me. Great price quality and plenty of selection the staff is so awesome too very courteous and helpful. Haven't been this year but I'll see ya soon🫡🇺🇸

  My 1st time & I was there on the hunt for very fresh special ingredients. The information desk at the door had a "foodie" walk me through and we got everything I needed for the culinary adventure I was preparing for. Everyone was very nice and very helpful. I browsed a little after I was done & I am taking my mom back next week as I'm sure she will enjoy it too! Highly recommend it! Sharron was my "foodie" & John at seafood counter gave me not just tips but increased my education for this adventure too. Will happily be returning every time I come to San Antonio I am sure!

  First, to all my Michigander's out there, they have icecream from Michigan and it is delicious! Second, thank you, Central Market, for having fresh rhubarb and black garlic! Third, it smelled amazing when we walked in. We went in looking for very specific items that we haven't found anywhere else and came out with so much more! We will definitely be back. Also, excellent customer service, which we truly value. 😁

  On more than one occasion, I’ve relied on staff suggestions for higher-end bottles of wine, including a recent purchase of a $100+ bottle for a special occasion. That bottle turned out to be clearly spoiled. To their credit, they did replace it, but this isn’t an isolated incident. When you’re spending that kind of money, you expect a baseline level of expertise and quality control, and that simply hasn’t been my experience here. They clearly don't seem to like me very much which is peculiar since the locations in Austin have always been so wonderful to me. I've not shopped at this location in San Antonio for months now and I do not plan on ever going back however the Austin location of Central Market will always have my business and support. HEB has had my loyalty since the 1970's they are a wonderful organization and have helped these communities in so many ways they will always have my support.

  As someone who visits Central Market daily and was so excited for the remodel to be finished, I have to admit I’m pretty disappointed. I go to the café almost every day for coffee, and the new remodel honestly feels really lackluster. In trying to make it modern, the café and eating area has become one of the most uninviting spaces I’ve seen. It honestly feels worse than a public school cafeteria. The plastic chairs, cheap tabletops, blank walls, glass partitions, and LED lighting give it absolutely no personality. That is what feels so off, because Central Market’s whole appeal has always been its personality. It has always felt warm and welcoming, and the staff still bring that, but the remodel, at least in the cafeteria, takes away so much of that atmosphere. I’m not saying this just to complain. I genuinely hope management sees this and makes some thoughtful improvements. It feels like a lot of little details were overlooked in this renovation, and those are the kinds of things you expect to be done well in a premium store.
