We ordered 4 original Arby’s Melts. At the drive-thru window, the employee repeatedly said we had ordered 4 Number 1 combos. We politely corrected her several times, explaining that we ordered 4 original Arby’s Melts by themselves, not combos.
A team lead named Joseph then came to the window and said, “Let me fix this.” He appeared to correct the order, changing it from 4 Number 1s to what he said were 4 singles.
When we got our food and checked the bag, we discovered we had been given 4 Bacon Cheddar Melts instead of 4 original Arby’s Melts. I went inside to have the mistake corrected, and the team
Lead Joseph immediately became argumentative and raised his voice. He insisted that we had ordered Bacon Cheddar Melts and said, “No, you didn’t. I heard you order those.”
I calmly explained that his employee had initially confused our order with Number 1 combos and that he himself had come to the window to correct the order. Instead of listening, he continued to argue and then said, “I’ll allow it this time, but next time I won’t.”
What was most upsetting was not the order mistake itself, but the way we were treated. The team lead Joseph then called the drive-thru employee over and began yelling at her in front of customers, saying that a Number 1 is a Bacon Cheddar and a Number 2 is a Classic. He then took the bag from me and said he needed a receipt. When the employee asked why, he responded, “Don’t worry about it.”
Unfortunately, when we got home and opened the sandwiches, we discovered the order was still wrong. Despite returning to the restaurant and addressing the issue, we still did not receive the 4 original Arby’s Melts we originally ordered.
Mistakes happen, and we understand that. However, being argued with, spoken to disrespectfully, witnessing an employee being yelled at in front of customers, and then still receiving the wrong order after attempting to have it corrected was extremely frustrating and disappointing. We simply wanted the correct order and expected to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. Tried calling to explain the order was still wrong and he yelled and hung up on me.
