  What a wonderful hidden gem! We stopped at this quaint restaurant in a beautiful historic house on our way back to Dallas from Austin, and we’re so glad we did. I had the chicken Marsala, and it was absolutely amazing — the chicken was so tender, juicy, and fresh, and every bite was delicious. The staff was incredibly nice, attentive, and welcoming. They even graciously accommodated us with our pet, which made our stop even more enjoyable. The atmosphere of the historic house makes the experience feel extra special. This is definitely a place more people should know about! And the speakeasy was SO cool! Such a fun and unique surprise that added to the whole experience. Definitely a hidden gem that more people need to know about! We will absolutely be back. ❤️

  The Barton House of Salado is definitely worth the drive! We started our meal with the Candied Bacon Board, and it completely set the tone for the rest of our experience. The homemade cheeses, fresh bread, sausage, and what might just be the best bacon I’ve ever had made for an incredible appetizer! For our entrees, I ordered the steak and eggs and the bacon omelette, while my wife enjoyed the shepherd’s pie and petite salad. The steak was perfectly seasoned, and the shepherd’s pie was cooked to perfection. Everything was delicious! The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was just as impressive. The softly dimmed lighting, dark gray walls, and tasteful accents created a warm, inviting setting that made the entire experience even better. Great food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

  Came for date night. Madison was our server and she was fantastic! She had suggestions and wine pairings that complemented my pork chop (which was cooked to perfection). The atmosphere was comfy and intimate. We had great cocktails, great entrees, great limoncello dessert and great service. Can’t wait to come again!

  Excellent choice for our 37th wedding anniversary celebration. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived & our table was even decorated. Our drinks were made perfectly & served with a smile by our sweet server Brayden. Carrie also introduced herself & checked on us. The food was delicious from the appetizer to the main course (steak). It’s nice to know there is another choice for special occasions in the Temple area. We will definitely visit again!
