  This place has great food, and the owner Jesse took great care of us. The seating is also peaceful and nice. We got the smokeshow and everything was fantastic. The pork belly fried rice, and avocado crema were big stand outs!

  The food was amazing- moist and flavorful. We tried every meat on the menu and loved all of it. We also had the mac salad, potato salad, and pork belly fried rice. All the sides were delicious, but the fried rice was a stand out. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful.

  We stopped in just before opening on a Friday to pick up lunch that we would eat with friends in North Austin. My first choice was pickup at Interstellar, which is great, but the hassle factor to get food there is huge. I am so glad that we tried Smokey Buns BBQ instead. I loved the relaxed and chill vibe here. The owner gave us a friendly greeting while we waited for opening. We ordered 3 brisket sandwiches, a 2 meat plate and potato salad for our sides. Everything was fantastic. The meat was moist, tender and flavorful. I loved the pickles and potato salad. My husband is very picky about potato salad and he loved it too. I had both the brisket and the pork ribs. Best ribs I have had in a long while. Our friends loved the meal too. Thanks Smokey Buns and we will be back.

  We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. Right away they let us know they were short staffed and offered free soda and water as an apology for a long wait. The wait was not very long at all. We had the pork ribs and brisket. It was just as good as any you’d find at the big barbecue places in Austin. We were very pleased and we’ll definitely be back.
