(06/27/2026) Had dinner and attended to see the world cup games at besos and it was a great experience. It wasn't too busy when I arrived and my folks were able to secure a spot to see the TV's for the games. My server, Carey (I really hope I didn't butcher the name), did well with taking care of me and my folks and I have no complaints of her service. I ordered drinks from the bar and the management at the time, Mandy, overheard that I wasn't pleased with the way my second drink came out. I preferred it the way the first one was made and it had to be remade. Nonetheless, she heard and handled my situation very well and even made it on the house. Very kind and very happy with her customer service. Food was good overall, I had the fajita plate and also tried the quesabirria tacos. I liked my fajita plate better. What I really liked the most was the attention to the guest here, I was really happy with how management handled my situation. I also really liked how friendly the crew was, I had the pleasure to have nice conversations with the busser and the hostess about the cup games. This as a whole made the environment very welcoming. I'm not from Austin, but places like this have my business in the future.

As a veteran, a Hispanic and a business man, with everything in my heart, do not eat here, The lady in the front "In charge" gave me and my family poor treatment before we even sat down, we had a party of 8 coming and requested a larger table, said that the table was for bigger parties, "Everyone had not yet arrived", sometimes it's not what you say but how you say it, people are not dumb, people know when they are being disrespected or disrespectful, my family did not feel comfortable after she insisted that the table was for bigger tables, with a not so polite and disingenuous tone, we got up and left after planning to try this place for the first time. Worst first time encounter ever, very sad treatment from your own people.

I'm a little late getting around to this review but here we go. My girlfriends & I always go to Happy Hour for Cinco de Mayo. We decided to meet at Besos this year. #BADIDEA We wouldn't mind a crowd if the restaurant had properly prepared and staffed up for the occasion. But when I walked in between 5:40 - 6:00pm the hostess asked if I had a reservation đŁ No, not for Happy Hour at the bar...Long story short, they literally only had 1 person working the entire bar!!!! It was terrible; I literally watched 3 parties of customers leave without ever being served. Then when they did get a person to help the bar tender, he serviced a couple that had come in long after me and never asked if I needed water, chips or anything. The guy sitting next to me said "I saw that too" and I was just like "ummm, I guess I don't deserve any water or chips" He said he didn't like that and he left; I waited for my girlfriend to call me back and we all met up at 3rd Base (next door to Besos) and had a great time!!!
Besos food isn't really good, drinks are ok, but Mamagement SUCKS.
I was really looki g forward to teying their Birria tacos bc ive heard sooo much about them. When mjne came out they were very salty for me đ„șđ„ș my server did offer to replace my meal , but we had a large party and i didnt want to be a bother. My husband enjoyed them as leftovers today so they didnt go to waste. My husband got the enchiladas, he said they were amazing. The portions were really good especially for the price.
The whole staff were super friendly and extra helpful with our party. More people showed up than expected and they were quick to accomdate us. The staff made sure my girls were comfortable and noticed my toddler was sitting on knees to eat ao they offered a booster seat before i had to ask . They were very very sweet with the whole interaction. Our server WAS AMAZING , as i stated we had a large party (18 total) and she was attentive and on top of everyones needs. Our drinks stayed filled and our prders were all correct , she stayed poaitive throughout the whole experience and even still took time to interact with us , as if we were a smaller party. Although, many would have overwhlemed and stressed and impatient, she made it look easy. Im impressed honestly, not many servers especially in todays day and age , can handle that large of a party by themselves and stay as upbeat and on top of everything and everyone.
The atmospher: the decor was super cute . Loved the glitter paint in the bathrooms and the decorations throughout the resturuant. They ahve a super cute photo op set up when you enter the resturaunt to the right of the intrance WE LOVED THAT!!!
The only complaint i have about the atmospheres was the noise the music was really loud , which made it hard to hear. Other than that the vibes were all energetic and positive.
Oh the cocktails :
Husband had a margarita and said it was good. It wasnt really hitting the spot for what he was expecting , which was a bummer
The coctail i had was DELICIOUS !!! Altough , i was bummed they were out of the candy that was supposed to come with it :( that was one of the main reasons i chose that drink.
I forgave though because the drink was everything . The server had even said it was really good and helped me make that decision , i dont think she knew they were out of the candies that came with it. She definitely recommended a great one. Id love to come back and try it again when they have the candies for it.
My daughters both enjoyed their experience as well (10 and 3 ) they LOVED their food and ate almost all of it. They are super picky eaters , so that in its self says alot . They both loved the environment as well. Although they too didnt like how loud the music was.
Overall id definitely recommend tryin this place out, it is kind of pricey though so be prepared for that.

My Experience at Besos Cocina & Cantina
If you are looking for a spot that perfectly balances a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere with truly standout Mexican cuisine, Besos Cocina & Cantina is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the energy is infectiousâitâs the kind of place that feels just as right for a casual weeknight dinner as it does for a lively weekend celebration.
What really sets Besos apart is the kitchenâs commitment to quality. You can taste the freshness in every dish, from the hand-pressed tortillas to the perfectly balanced house-made salsas that provide just the right amount of kick.
Highlights from the Menu:
The Tacos:
Hands down some of the best Iâve had. The meats are seasoned and seared to perfectionâjuicy, tender, and incredibly flavorful.
The Signature Cocktails:
The cantina side of the house is not messing around. Their margaritas are crafted with premium spirits and fresh citrus, steering clear of that artificial, syrupy sweetness you find elsewhere.
The Atmosphere:
Itâs stylish but comfortable. The dĂ©cor is modern yet warm, making it a fantastic backdrop for a great conversation with friends or a fun date night.
The service is just as impressive as the food. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely seems to care that youâre having a great time. They are quick to offer recommendations if youâre feeling indecisive, and they keep the rhythm of the meal moving perfectly.
Whether you're a local or just passing through, Besos Cocina & Cantina is well worth a visit. Itâs rare to find a place that hits all the right notes on food, drinks, and service so consistently. Highly recommended!
