I drove about 30 minutes from downtown Austin after seeing an Instagram post recommending Baba Kabob, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I ordered the beef koobideh, and it was flavorful, well-cooked, and one of the better kebabs I’ve had in the Austin area. The food came out quickly, the restaurant has a casual, comfortable atmosphere, and the owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
If I ever find myself back in Round Rock, I’d absolutely stop in again for the kebabs. Definitely worth checking out if you’re craving authentic Persian food.

Epitome of a hidden gem. If there is justice in the world, they outgrow that space very soon because the kebabs are that good. Koobideh was tender and delicious. I did not feel remorse after inhaling my plate (I ordered an extra kebab and finished everything) which is rare considering how much food I actually ate. Will absolutely be coming back to try all of the proteins.

My wife and I have driven by many times and today decided to try it out on a whim. I'm so glad we did. One of my favorite experiences is stumbling on a neighborhood gem like this. I ordered the Kebab Koobideh, which is two skewers of tender ground beef with sliced raw onion, grilled tomato and grilled jalapeno on the side. I chose naan for that dish. The naan is huge and the food was served on top of it. I tore chunks of naan to make mini pockets to put other ingredients in. Really tasty! My wife ordered the Classic Mix which includes one kebab koobideh and a skewer of grilled chicken. She ordered hers with rice. She really enjoyed hers too. I love that we live close making it easy to pop in for lunch. It's hard to believe that we were the only ones there. The inside is cozy and service is friendly. We'll definitely be back.

What can I say but echo many other reviewers!?!
The meat (ground beef skewers) WAS well-seasoned, juicy, and delicious.
The staff WAS friendly and welcoming to folks new to the cuisine and had thoughtful suggestions.
The after-dinner hot tea WAS a delight and had such a nice presentation. Absolutely don’t miss it.
This place is tucked away in a small shopping strip that doesn’t seem close to anything (but it’s not far from anything either)
The interior is immaculately clean with comfortable seating and interesting decor.
But it’s quirky too.
The menu is short (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing) but everything I tried was not just good, but excellent.
But the service is not exactly restaurant style…think of it more like an indoor food truck. You go up to the counter to place your order. Remember to pick up your silverware packets. Go to the fridge and select a drink, then pay for your feast.
After a brief wait the made to order food comes out, and for us it was just cheerfully plopped down on our table.
Perfectly acceptable, but just a bit different than most indoor restaurant experiences.
