Best fried chicken I have ever had. It was a little weird not being able to pick the sides, but the flavor of the potatoes and gravy was incredible, great biscuits, friendly service. All around, this place is a win!

Server was nice. All the sides were great. Chicken was not good. I am a VERY non-picky person but this chicken needed to cook longer or maybe at a higher temperature. Yes, it was done, but it didn’t have the nice pull-apart texture that fried chicken should have. The texture was like it had been hurried out of the frier and the meat had a lot of liquid oils and water and the texture was still a bit rubbery. That’s the best I can describe it. I thought it was just me but my husband said the exact same thing and I noticed others did not eat much and only a couple people wanted to take home leftovers. I feel bad that my son paid for this because it was my husband’s birthday. I think if I go back again I would get chicken fried steak. I don’t think I will be back though because I am remembering that this has happened before. It was years ago but it seems like the quality is too unreliable to risk good money. I put 4 stars for atmosphere only because it is extremely loud.

Laid-back, "come as you are" family-style dining right in cozy downtown Roanoke. We were in our of town based on recommendation from our friends.
We brought a group of four adults and a toddler and shared three chicken dinners, which gave us plenty of food with 12 pieces of chicken and unlimited sides (mashed potatoes, creamed corn, green beans, salad, and biscuits). The toddler ate for free with us, and we all left completely full.
Service was decent, and the overall environment was okay—it gets pretty loud and busy, but it fits the casual vibe of the area. All-in with drinks, tax, and tip, it came out to around $110. A solid, filling option for families looking for a relaxed meal without any fuss.

Curbside was a nightmare experience. I was called over the phone if could push my pickup time back 15 minutes the day before. I was extremely adamant that I needed it by a certain time. I agreed and was promised that it would be ready by the promised time and it wasn’t. Not even close. I had to deliver to healthcare workers who are on tight schedules and can’t stop to eat whenever they want. With as much as I spent on this order and the tip I gave I expect much better service and transparency.
