Tried Nirmanz recently and ordered the pani puri and the gunpowder masala dosa. The dosa was decent, but I found the pani puri a bit underwhelming. The portion was quite small, so we ended up ordering extra puris to finish the filling.
The pani itself lacked the tangy, sour kick that I typically expect from pani puri, and the overall flavor felt a bit mild. We mentioned this to our waiter, and the response was simply, “We serve it this way to all customers,” which wasn’t the most accommodating.
The restaurant has a nice ambiance, but the service was on the slower side. Overall, the food was okay for the price, though I was hoping for more flavor and a better customer service experience.

I booked a birthday celebration for 13–16 people at Nirmanz (Richmond location). While some of the food was good, the overall experience was disappointing because of the manager’s attitude and lack of customer service.
From the initial phone call, the manager came across as rigid and unwelcoming. I was asked to confirm the exact guest count by the next day and was told the reservation could be canceled if everyone did not arrive together. Since this was a surprise birthday celebration, I explained that the birthday family might arrive 30 minutes later, which was reluctantly allowed.
I also clearly stated that we would not be bringing any decorations other than a simple table setup. Despite this, the manager repeatedly interrupted me and kept warning that any banners would result in us being moved to the patio, without fully listening to what I was saying. When I pointed out that the interaction felt rude, the manager became even more confrontational.
The same attitude continued when we arrived. From the moment I gave my name, I felt ignored, interrupted, and dismissed.
The most disappointing part involved one of our guest families. Their two children have severe food allergies and are undergoing Oral Immunotherapy (OIT). The parents tried to explain why they had brought food for their children, as the kids can only try foods that have been carefully reviewed and tested as part of their treatment. Rather than listening or showing any understanding, the manager insisted the children sit outside on the patio. Many of the other children chose to sit outside with them on one of the hottest days of the year. Later, the manager complained about kids moving between the patio and indoor seating areas. It was upsetting to see so little empathy shown toward a family managing a serious medical condition.
When I later expressed my concerns, instead of apologizing, the manager asked my husband to speak to me and asked me to be careful next time.” After this experience, none of us have any interest in coming back, so there will not be a next time.
The starters were good, but one of the entrées was extremely salty.
Overall, the food was not enough to make up for the lack of hospitality, professionalism, and empathy. Customer service matters, and unfortunately that was the biggest disappointment of our visit.

Here’s a polished Google review that keeps your point clear and impactful:
We’ve visited this restaurant at least twice a month since this location opened, and we’ve always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was very disappointing.
We were a group of friends celebrating a birthday, and the staff made us feel rushed throughout the meal. While the restaurant closes at 10 PM and stops taking orders around 9:45 PM, it’s unreasonable to expect guests who are already dining to leave immediately after closing. We were being hurried out at 10:02 PM.
What was even more surprising was the manager’s attitude. When we asked for menu recommendations, the response was, “I don’t give recommendations. You should decide what you like, otherwise you’ll say I gave the wrong recommendation.” I’ve never experienced such a bizarre and unhelpful response from a manager.
The food is still good, but the customer service and hospitality on this visit were extremely disappointing.
Avoid this restaurant!!!
Visited with our daughter who has a life-threatening nut allergy and brought plain fries to keep her safe while we ordered food.
The manager was extremely rude, dismissive, and confrontational from the start and immediately told us to leave while we were trying to explain a medical situation.
Our daughter was left in tears after being spoken to so harshly in front of her.
Zero professionalism or basic courtesy was shown.
If this restaurant does not accommodate guests with severe nut allergies or does not allow allergy-safe food for children with medical dietary restrictions, that should be clearly posted on the front door so families can make informed decisions before entering.
After this incident, we also read other reviews and saw multiple complaints about the same rude behavior from this manager.
After deciding to try Indian food, we walked into Nirmanza. The restaurant was cozy, with beautiful decorations. We received a warm greeting. Upon opening the menu, we became overwhelmed with all the choices. The menu was a bit difficult to read partly because of typeset and colors, and partly because there were so many choices. On top of that, we had little experience with ordering Indian food, as most of our experience eating Indian food have been at a buffet. We asked the waiter for help, leading to him asking the manager to come assist us. She asked us about allergies and dislikes, before walking us through several recommendations. The food was fresh, fragrant, and a burst of flavors for our tastebuds. The waiter and the manager checked on us several times. Our son (9 years) even said that he hopes to bring his kids there one day to eat the lotus dish. It was a wonderful experience.
