This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had at a Whataburger.
Patrick, the employee who took our order, could definitely benefit from additional customer service training. As we were placing our order, every time I added another item, he interrupted with, "You done?" After the second time, I told him, "No," and continued ordering. When I finally finished and he asked again, I replied, "Yes, and you could be a little nicer." He simply gave me a blank stare and said nothing.
When our food was brought to the table, it was only the two meals and fries. There were no napkins or spicy ketchup, which are commonly provided when an employee delivers food to the table. When we asked Patrick if he could bring us some, his response was, "Go get it from the front." That level of customer service is unacceptable. If he's going to be working directly with customers, he needs proper training. Otherwise, he'd be better suited for a position away from the front counter.
Unfortunately, the female manager on duty did nothing to address the situation after it was brought to her attention.
To make matters worse, when we arrived and again when we left, there was a group of approximately 10–15 juveniles gathered directly in front of the entrance, smoking, hanging out, and partially blocking customers from entering and exiting the restaurant. This was between approximately 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on August 9. The manager made no apparent effort to address or disperse the group, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere.
Overall, the combination of poor customer service, lack of management involvement, and the unsafe and uncomfortable environment at the entrance made for a very disappointing experience. I won't be returning to this location.
