  This is my local grocery store and I hate it! Way over priced, poor quality meat and produce, bakery never has fresh french bread, and zero help from staff. Can't wait for H-E-B to replace these Safeway stores.

  I’ve been coming to this grocery store for about three years now, and whenever I need assistance, I can always count on Jimmy. Whether he’s working at a register or helping at self-checkout, he’s always friendly, welcoming, and willing to help. He provides great customer service and always makes you feel appreciated. This location is also consistently clean, organized, and well-maintained. Overall, it’s a great store with wonderful employees like Jimmy who make the shopping experience even better.

  I had a really frustrating experience at this Tom Thumb location on Custer Parkway. I purchased a fifty dollar Texas Lottery scratch ticket and won seventy five dollars, which I confirmed using the official Texas Lottery app before bringing it to the store to cash out. The clerk at the register tried to scan the ticket's barcode, and when it wouldn't read, he repeatedly scratched at the barcode with his finger instead of trying another method, which damaged the ticket so badly it could no longer be scanned at all. When I asked for a manager, the manager was quite rude to me and made no effort to help, even though it was clearly their own employee's mistake that caused the damage. The manager called the Texas Lottery Commission, and after finding out what could be done, refused to do anything about it and instead told me I would have to handle it myself. I later confirmed with the Texas Lottery Commission directly that I now have to either visit a claim center in person or mail in the damaged ticket, a much more difficult process than simply cashing it out in store like I originally tried to do. I sent a formal written complaint to Tom Thumb customer service explaining the situation and asking for a resolution, and I never received any response at all. Between the employee's mistake, the manager's rude and dismissive attitude, and the complete lack of follow-up from customer service, this is exactly why I will not be shopping at this store again. Extremely disappointing experience.

  I frequent this store often, but today I purchased a fruit tray with dip. I ate a couple of pieces of the fruit, and as I was opening up the dip, discovered mold. Please see pictures below. Issue will be escalated if I end up getting sick.

  I am writing this review to recognize an exceptional employee who consistently delivers incredible service. I have run into Cristian Ramirez at several different Tom Thumb locations, and his ability to adapt instantly to different store environments is truly amazing. No matter which store he is working in, Cristian Ramirez brings the same high level of energy, professionalism, and expertise. He transitions seamlessly between locations, immediately pointing at the right direction of the item I’m looking for !! It is rare to find an employee with this level of versatility, speed, and dedication. He is a massive asset to the entire Tom Thumb brand, and his hard work does not go unnoticed. Thank you, Cristian, for always providing a top-tier customer experience!
