Pappasitos switched to coconut oil for all their fried foods. I first learned this several months ago at DFW airport, but forgot — and unfortunately brought my family here. The reaction was immediate. The kids literally cried because they couldn’t understand the taste, describing it as “bath soap,” and they couldn’t get it out of their mouths. We even let them drink large amounts of Sprite to rinse away the flavor, and it still didn’t help. The chicken tenders, fries, and tortilla chips are all fried in coconut oil, and the taste is unmistakable. Every adult at the table frowned at the same time and agreed it tasted like hair product. It was absolutely, undeniably atrocious. The flavor lingered on our palates for HOURS — unpleasant, offensive, and impossible to ignore. Pappas, this was a very bad idea. If you’re going to charge premium prices, the food needs to taste premium, and coconut oil is not it. It smells bad, tastes even worse, ruins the entire meal AND the rest of your day. Every burp will be a reminder of fried coconut oil. 🗑

We had no prior reservations but got good seats at the bar. Coleman, the manager was very hospitable. He addressed us nicely and was genuinely interested in learning more about us.
All the food and drinks he suggested were top notch!
Dylan the bartender was also really nice too. Overall
it was a great experience and we’ll definitely be returning.

The food is good, the wait for drink and the food was horribly long about 35 minutes for the refill had to get a different server, about 45 for the food. The manager is untrained he was nice he spoke to us about the food he went and got it. It was the fajita playe #2 it supposed to be sizzling and have smoke, the one we where served just above room temperature (was good but missed the experience). Waitor disappeared again had to talk to the manager for the bill and he sent someone else.

We recently visited Pappasito’s Cantina in Richardson, TX, and overall, the food was good and our waiter was excellent. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely did his best to help us when we had trouble using a gift card to pay our bill.
Unfortunately, the experience became frustrating when he asked for assistance from someone wearing a white shirt. Rather than helping resolve the issue with the gift card, that person seemed uninterested and simply asked if we had another form of payment. Our waiter continued trying to help, and we appreciated his effort, but the lack of assistance from management was disappointing.
The food and service from our waiter were good, but the way the gift card issue was handled left us with a less-than-positive impression. Hopefully, management can do a better job supporting their staff and helping customers resolve payment issues in the future.
