I used to come to this location often, but it seems they don't care about the performance of their employees. Last December I had to bring sweets for a company Christmas party so I called the bakery in this HEB to make sure I could place an order ahead of time. Cassie was incredibly unhelpful on the phone. She said the item I was looking for was not available, but I told her it was listed in the website as available at that store. Again, she said it was not available and said she could not help me and started to sound annoyed. Right after the phone call I went in person to the store and it WAS available at the store and I had to go ask another employee. So why is that Cassie couldn't help me but the other woman could? Leendra was also no help to me. Again, I had a company celebration around the corner and had to call in advanced to ask few questions and the entirety of the time she was blunt and sounded agitated and speaking to me in a slow manner like she was talking to a child. I ended up just getting my cakes from Walmart instead. Then 3 months ago I had to pick out a cake and a few pastries from the bakery and the girls by the name of Desiree and Marissa were absolutely no help. They kept playing on their phones deliberately ignoring me. I had to practically yell to get anyone's attention. This is not the first time they have done this. It's almost like every time I go to get doughnuts for my friends or get a cake, the girls are on their phones or having unproductive conversations. I came one night before they closed to retrieve an order and again, Marissa is no help. She glanced over at me like I was just an inconvenience to her. Last time, I checked, you guys get paid to do your job not socialize with the other girls and drop curse words left and right. My friends have also had similar experiences with the employees named above, so we have since completely switched to buying from Walmart. I hope the management team sees this and does something, but they probably won't which is the disappointing part.

Dear Customer Relations Team, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a deeply disappointing experience I had at the HEB in Portland, Texas, on June 23, 2026. Having shopped with HEB for many years across Texas, I was shocked by the level of service and the store's management. I arrived at the store at approximately 9:00 p.m. and found that the main aisles were blocked off for floor cleaning. This made it impossible to access essential items such as toilet paper, paper towels, and dog food. It is highly inconvenient for customers to have primary sections of the store closed off during business hours. Furthermore, I was extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by a cashier named Ashley. Throughout my transaction, which totaled over $400, she was unfriendly and did not offer a greeting or a thank you. When I politely requested that my items be bagged in a specific order, her response was dismissive. At one point, she yanked my coupons out of my hand before I could even present them to her. Despite seeing that I was struggling to maneuver two full baskets while dealing with a disability—a fractured tibia in my right leg—the assistance offered was inadequate. Ashley asked if I needed help but then walked away from the register. When I requested to speak with a manager, I was told there was no manager on site or available to assist. I have been a loyal HEB customer for a long time, but this experience was unacceptable. Having to shop elsewhere for essential items was a waste of my time and gas, and the physical strain of maneuvering both carts alone has caused me significant pain. I hope you will look into the management, the scheduling of floor maintenance, the conduct of the staff at this location, and review the security footage of the incident. I look forward to hearing how you intend to address these concerns. Best regards, Christy Scott
