Honestly, the whole Sonic experience is supposed to be about ordering from your parking space and having your food brought out to you. This time, we were told to go through the drive-thru instead, which completely defeats the purpose. If I wanted a drive-thru ice cream experience, I could go to almost any other fast-food restaurant. The employees seemed overwhelmed, stressed, and unsure of what was going on, which made the experience even more frustrating. It felt disorganized from start to finish. We still ordered ice cream, but the experience was disappointing. To make matters worse, when it came time to pay, the employee asked if it was okay to take my card inside. When we asked if she had a card reader, she said yes, but that it was inside. At that point, it didn’t really feel like a question since there wasn’t another option available.Overall, it was a frustrating experience and a major letdown. I would recommend keeping the traditional carhop service available, as that’s what makes Sonic different from every other drive-thru restaurant.
