I hate having to write a negative review, especially for this location because my experiences here are usually great. However, it seems that whenever a particular employee is working in the evenings, my experience is consistently unpleasant.
I went around midnight of June 24 on Wednesday- Thursday. She is a short woman with black hair usually worn in a bun and glasses. I don’t know her name, but I believe she may be a supervisor or manager. Unfortunately, her attitude is always off-putting and comes across as rude, unfriendly, and disrespectful. This isn’t based on just one interaction. Every time I’ve encountered her during evening visits, her demeanor has been the same, which makes me feel like the negativity is personal at this point.
My most recent issue occurred when I placed a large order through the McDonald’s app: 8 burgers, 5 large fries, and a 4-piece Chicken McNuggets. I also requested 3 ranch, 3 BBQ, 2 buffalo sauces, and 1 Big Mac sauce.
When I received my order, a young employee who was very respectful and friendly handed it to me. I asked if all the sauces were included, and he said they should be. As I checked the bag, I noticed I had only received 1 BBQ, 1 ranch, and 1 Big Mac sauce. The employee kindly offered to get me a couple more sauces.
As he was about to do so, the manager/supervisor abruptly stepped in and said, “No, you can’t have more sauces. If you want more, you need to pay for them.” I respectfully explained that I had requested the sauces through the app and was simply trying to let her know what had happened. Instead of listening, she continued arguing with me and repeatedly insisted that I needed to pay for the sauces. She even stated that if I didn’t have the money to pay for them, that was fine, but I still couldn’t have the sauces.
What bothered me most wasn’t the policy itself. If there was a charge for additional sauces, I would have had no issue paying for them. The problem was her attitude and the way she handled the situation. Rather than explaining the policy professionally, she came across as confrontational and dismissive while I was trying to have a respectful conversation.
The young employee who initially helped me was courteous, friendly, and professional, and I appreciated his customer service. My complaint is specifically about the supervisor/manager’s behavior and customer service. As a manager myself, I understand the importance of maintaining professionalism, even when enforcing store policies. After a long day at work, I expect the same level of respect and customer service that I provide at my own establishment. Unfortunately, every interaction I’ve had with this employee has left me feeling unwelcome and offended by her attitude.
I hope management addresses this because the rest of the staff has generally provided great service, and this location is usually one I enjoy visiting.
