It was my first time eating at this restaurant, and honestly, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the okra soup with fish, and the food was absolutely unacceptable.
There was NO flavor, NO salt, and barely any seasoning. I even asked for it to be spicy, and somehow it still had no spice whatsoever. It literally tasted like boiled okra with a little crayfish powder thrown in. That’s it.
I took one bite and almost threw up. I kept thinking, “Is this a joke? Because how do you serve someone food that tastes this bland?
I really don’t like calling food nasty, but this was nasty. I wasted my time and my money, and unfortunately, I would not recommend this place based on my experience. Hopefully, they do better because this was definitely not it.
Delicious Nigerian food. We love the jollof rice and crave it sometimes. The food is made to order, so be prepared to wait a bit. The owner is kind and will come out to chat. The table next to me ordered Egusi with fufu (pounded yam) and apparently it’s the most popular dish that has gone viral. We will definitely try next time.

First time trying Nigerian food it was very good, had the egusi with pound yam and plantains and meatpie, flavor was very good on everything and large portions were super filling. Thank you so much Anne for making it a great experience and for being so funny and helpful with everything! Highly recommend
Arona is absolutely amazing! The food was incredibly delicious, fresh, and full of authentic Nigerian flavor. Every bite tasted homemade.
What made the experience even better was the owner. She was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind, making us feel right at home from the moment we (my husband and I with our baby) walked in. Excellent customer service like that is hard to find.
If you are looking for authentic Nigerian cuisine, I highly recommend Arona Food Place. We will definitely be coming back again!

First time trying Nigerian Cuisine and it was so worth the drive!
We had the fufu & egusi, jollof rice and basmati rice and all of it was so tasty, super savory and filling.A really nice introduction to the cuisine that I recommend to try if you're new to it as well <3
The place is really comfortable and has two tables for dining, and the best part is that each dish is freshly made when ordered. The ladies there were really sweet and genuine as well, and really wish them the best of success! Thank you again for the meal!
