  Sorry to complain, but the sides were NOT good at all. As a matter of fact the two I got with my combo meal were really bad. The yams were the worst I have ever eaten in my life! They were floating in a liquid which I thought was a syrup when I first opened the container and that would have been fine, but to my dismay it turned out to be super savory like beef broth and had onions in it. They tasted like they were cooked in a beef stew. YUCK!!! I have never had yams that were prepared in a more horrible and disappointing way! I am not someone who needs the yams I eat to be super sweet or syrup(y), but these weren’t even edible. We wound up disposing of them because no one could stand them. The potato salad was just “ok”, but was extremely sour due to the amount of mustard and pickles and I literally only got one little chunk of what seemed like a potato. It was very mushy and had hardly any potatoes in it. I got a 1/2 Chicken, which was pretty good but a bit on the rubbery side. It seemed that they had either cooked it too fast or not cooked it long enough. With all of this being said, needless to say, we will not be back. We have been going to this barbecue establishment for decades. As a matter of fact, it used to be called Luther’s Barbecue and it was fantastic. When the name changed to Pappas Barbecue we continued to periodically buy barbecue from here, but over the years the flavors have seemed to change and are just not appetizing like they used to be. Serving yams in a beef broth type liquid with onions and potato salad that is just mush with little to no potatoes in it are not the way to keep people coming back for more.😝

  Pork ribs heaps better that beef. Slaw was to die for. Service excellent!

  Very disappointed on my last visit. The drive thru meals have gotten very small for the money. To start they are always out of the half chicken really early, by 3pm 90% of the time they’re out of it!!! So I ordered a loaded brisket potato and tea for about $20 for a small potato and it hardy had any meat!!! Seriously, they just lost 8 customers who are family members who have been complaining about the same service. Remember that it’s because of the customers you all are open, serve them accordingly!!! Sad that we’ll have to find a new barbecue restaurant to eat at.
