- KVkelley vanceSep 4, 20261.0My 73-year-old father placed his pizza order at 6:39 PM, and it was not delivered until 8:32 PM, almost two full hours later. That is completely unacceptable for a pizza delivery order. What made the situation even more frustrating was the lack of customer service. I called the store specifically to speak with a manager about the extremely long wait, but I was placed on hold for more than 10 minutes. No one ever came back to the phone, and I finally gave up and hung up. I understand that restaurants can become busy and delays can happen. However, making a customer wait nearly two hours for an order and then making it impossible for them to speak with a manager about the problem is poor customer service. My father is 73 years old and was simply trying to order dinner. He should not have had to wait almost two hours for his food with no explanation, and I should not have had to sit on hold for over 10 minutes trying to get assistance. This experience was extremely disappointing from beginning to end. Pizza Hut needs to do better with communication, delivery times, and especially handling customer complaints. A long delay is one thing, but ignoring a customer who is trying to speak with a manager about that delay makes the entire experience much worse. This is not the first time this has happened, about 10 months ago went through the same thing except the wait time was just an hour, but then the delivery guy tried telling my dad he needed to pay him and my dad told no he paid online when he placed the order, the delivery driver kept arguing with him, when he realized my dad wasn’t going to pay him he then left, completely disappointed all the way around.
