    As someone who’s new to Texas and new to shopping at H-E-B, my experience this morning at store #474 was disappointing. Brenda, who was working the self-checkout area, was very rude—not only to me, but also to an elderly woman who needed assistance at the register across from me. Before leaving the store, I called management to make them aware of the situation because I believe experiences like this should be addressed. Will this stop me from shopping at H-E-B? No. But customer service matters, and having rude employees on the front line creates a negative experience for customers. As a customer service supervisor myself, I take customer interactions seriously and hold my team accountable when issues arise. I simply believe the same level of care should apply here.

    The customer service I experienced at this HEB today was appalling. After preparing a full meal—including toasted bread, melted cheese, and fresh produce—I discovered the unexpired lunchmeat I had just purchased was slimy and contaminated. This forced me to discard the entire meal, wasting both time and additional ingredients. When I returned the product, the manager attributed the spoilage to "inconsistent refrigeration temperatures." When I remarked that I thought "Here Everything’s Better," she directly challenged that expectation, suggesting that such a notion was incorrect. Despite the loss of my time and the wasted ingredients, she refused to offer anything beyond a basic refund for the meat. When I informed her I would be shopping for lunchmeat elsewhere, she simply replied, "Okay," showing zero remorse. For a store manager to be this indifferent toward food safety and the brand's own promise—modeling such poor customer service in front of her own team no less—is unacceptable. It was a complete waste of time and effort. UPDATE: After seeing the response to my review, I called the number provided and explained what had happened. Shortly afterward, a different manager from this H‑E‑B location contacted me and said they were taking the situation seriously and would speak with the staff member who had interacted with me unprofessionally. This manager also told me I could return and that the ingredients wasted the first time would be replaced at no charge. I went back and received the replacement ingredients. Thank you to the H‑E‑B team members who handled this professionally and made things right.

    I recently ordered an 8-inch cake for my daughter’s birthday, and I would love to thank Kim for her amazing work. The cake turned out exactly as I had requested—perfect in every detail. I truly appreciate all the effort she put into meeting my requirements. I can’t thank her enough!

    I’m very upset about the cake decor I had for an anniversary cake. The design is horrible…it’s not centered, touching the boarder at the top and sides! The pic I brought in was for reference not to replicate. Then they argued with me stating Greek alphabet have copy rights. Hmmmm…ma’am it’s the alphabet in Greek there is not infringement going on here. If that’s the case let’s not use any alphabet EVER. If it wasn’t for me not having something in place for this celebration I would’ve walked out with no cake! I could’ve made this myself at home!! I am requesting a full refund. So disheartening…

    I always enjoy shopping at HEB—it’s my favorite grocery store because of the quality products and the consistently helpful staff. During my recent visit to this location, I had the pleasure of being assisted by Warley, who bagged my items, and Zoey, the cashier. Both were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made my experience smooth and enjoyable. However, I did have a different experience with the manager on duty. While I understand everyone has busy moments, I found her demeanor to be less welcoming. She did not acknowledge my greeting, which felt out of alignment with the excellent customer service I’ve come to expect from HEB. I share this feedback because I truly value the standard of service your team usually provides, and I hope it can be reflected consistently at all levels of staff.
