I shop at this store often. The employees are always very helpful. In a time when the U.S. is in such a divisive state, kindness means so much. Customer service has declined, but not at HEB in Melissa, TX.
I spent quite a while looking for a bottle of wine that I tasted a week ago during a demo in the store. I liked it and bought a bottle. I went back today for another bottle, but was unable to find it. Two clerks helped me search, but it wasn’t to be found. I expressed, “that’s ok” and moved on to the soup isles with no further thought of the wine. The female who worked in the wine department showed up later behind me with a bottle of wine and asked if it was the one I wanted. It was and I was so pleased. The wine wasn’t really that important, but her kindness and caring was worth a million. What a nice gesture. Thank you so much.
UN- AMERICAN! Why are there ZERO decorations or merchandise for July 4th!? Its our 250th Anniversary and we cant get any AMERICAN decor?
Yall went above and beyond for the Indian new year and its not even our market....
I know, I'm taking my money elsewhere. Absolutely disgraceful.
I've been here several times and each time I leave kinda disappointed. It's always overwhelming, and every thing costs 10%-20% more than other groceries for the same products. They also lack a Hot deli that Albertsons or Publix has. The thing they got going for them are the tortillas are good and the fresh tamales, which apparently they dont have anymore.

I am highly disappointed in my HEB. I was in the store early. Around 9am. There was absolutely NO ONE in the self check out. I had two small baskets, I was hopping for two household. One of those houses has a terminally ill child.
**Keep in mind, I have to keep track of everything I purchase for these families.
So I kindly asked the self check out person if I could please do self check out. Because previously I had done this before and whomever was working self check allowed me to do this.
That is why I go early, not during peak times, I try to be mindful that when the store is busy, it would be harder to do self check out with more than “10 items” I understand that the self check out is designated for 10 items or less, but when you have someone like me shopping for medically complex families, I would think you would allow me to do self check out. Like I said I had done it before. But TODAY WEDNESDAY 6/24, I walked up to self check out kindly asked if I could use self check out, before I could finish asking, I was told “No ma’am you have more than 10 items” I tried to explain, but was told “No you have more than ten items and we don’t allow that here!” I then explained they had allowed me before. I was told by another employee, to go to a different register and just place a divider down, this person then proceeded to explain to me how the lines work as if I had never been in a grocery store before. Made me feel like I was ignorant, but this is still my HEB. But maybe management should talk to self check out personnel and explain sometimes there will be families and nurses like me who need to use self check out. We are NOT STUPID, should not be spoken to as if we are and that we just need understanding and compassion to our situations! Thanks 🙏
The cashiers/bag handlers are often rude or lazy. The bagging boy took off and didn't put my groceries in the cart. The cashier was nice but the next one on duty looked high. She wasn't all there. They still need training on how to properly handle and bag groceries. I don't spend money on gas to travel quite a ways to get there only to have my chips crushed and groceries handled in a barbaric manner. This isn't Aldi. It's my hard earned money being spent on the groceries I buy. I don't want to get home to crushed food. I always have to check everything before I leave now because I don't have faith or trust in the bagging process or the check out process (when aggressively grabbing items and speed scanning). This younger generation is really something else. Please do better HEB.
