I love that HEB is a Texas based business with a wonderful history of supporting its communities and serving Texans for decades, however, their BBQ restaurant is anything but Texas BBQ. Burnt ends: they need to look those up so they know what they actually are. What they served me were hard chunks of tasteless brisket and not even warm Brisket: should be served hot, not on the cold side of luke warm and should have a bbq smoke flavor. Brisket beans: should have brisket in them and be served hot, not on the cold side of luke warm. Some BBQ flavor would be nice also. Spicy BBQ sauce: should actually be spicy. It was just basic bbq sauce. Fried okra should be crispy not soft and soggy. Should also be served warm. I guess they call it Texas BBQ because it was made in Texas however this is NOT Texas BBQ. This was the worst BBQ I have ever had in Texas of which I am a Native Texan of 55 years

My son wanted chicken tenders and fries so we went to HEB True Tx BBQ in Mckinney (I should have just taken him to Raising Cane like he asked but I figured he would get more bang for my buck). Kyndall was WONDERFUL at the drive thru. She has great customer service! I ordered 6 chicken tenders with a medium sidewinder fry which totaled to almost $17 and I received a Happy meal. It appeared they took 1 1/2 chicken tenders and cut it up into chicken nuggets and the fries were in a baby sized container. Please save yourself a trip and DO NOT GO TO THIS HEB TRUE TX BBQ! IF I FELT UP TO DRIVING I WOULD HAVE RETURNED FOR A REFUND. I have been to the locations in Prosper, Celina, and Plano and never have been given portions like this so this definitely speaks to this location's management or worker just being triflin. I will not ever go back to this location!

Came in to grab a quick bite and ordered side of beans with my sandwich. Laughs on me when I saw plastic condiment container of beans. Disappointed to say the least.

The smoked lamb was exquisite! This needs to be a regular item! Service was incredible too, Mike at the Custer and Eldorado location was very friendly and helpful. They were also playing the world cup and the place was practically empty! 5 stars all around!
