  We’ve been there twice and have had the best porterhouse, filet, all-beef hit dogs, wagyu burgers ever. We’re trying the wagyu hot dogs next. It’s our new go-to. Great family-own store. Clean, organized, smells incredible when you walk in, and the customer service is top-notch!

  Simply amazing marinades and high quality meat! Their prices are comparable to grocery store meat but the quality is SO much better! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always helpful. I absolutely love this place!

  This place has everything and they have amazing staff. So friendly. They even remembered that my spouse bought our senior pup a mini steak for his goodbye meal. He ate like a king. Just very kind folks. Their waygu is chefs kiss! Had the best elk and venison burgers ever. Prices are good too. We used to do the established butcher in downtown McKinney (no names!) but now that we've found this shop they are seriously overpriced with subpar cuts. Can't wait to make chicken wings this weekend!

  I’ve gotten ribs from a couple of the other places in town, but by far these baby backs were awesome, there is nothing on them but meat. They offer to remove the membrane for me, which was great and they cooked up perfectly. Additionally, I got some of their marinated steak tips, and they were phenomenal. Definitely no need to go into downtown McKinney any longer nor travel to Plano. Additionally, they offer a military discount and then supply the coupon for 10% off my next purchase over $50. How can you beat that?

  Let me being by saying…I’m a ribeye guy. Bone in, bone out, cowboy, tomahawk…as long as it’s a good medium ribeye, I’m in. Felt like a ribeye today. Rather than going to a supermarket, decided to go to a butcher. I Googled ‘butcher in McKinney Tx’ and Southern Steer Butcher came up. Didn’t know they existed and they happen to be close to my residence. Okay, I’ll give them a shot. Arrived at the store; good parking, store is clean and bright with only a couple people ahead of me. Didn’t see a ribeye that caught my eye, but they had some well marbled porter house steaks. Oh…my…God! That steak was tender, flavorful, just perfect! Needless to say, I’ll be back! If you want a really good steak, Southern Steer Butcher in McKinney is HIGHLY recommended. Please allow me to also mention, I had interaction with three members of their Team and all three were polite, professional and personable.
