  Good products with better prices than Kroger. Only issue about HEB is the aisles are really tight with the big shopping carts. I thought everything was bigger in Texas.

  Yeah, I came through on my motorcycle a day or two ago. Needed gas and spoke to Phyllis. I gave her ~$0.50 worth of nickels and 2 $1.00 bills, then found a third one in my pocket. I gave her the third one through the slot and she tried to gaslight me into thinking I’d given her $2.67 instead of $3.67. I insisted she check again and she said she couldn’t see the dollar. She tried to steal a dollar from me, it’s not even that it’s a dollar but it’s the principle that really threw me over the edge. I’m not buying gas here, ever. “Here everything’s better.” Riiight.

  I want to take a moment to recognize the wonderful customer service I received at H-E-B from Alisha, the manager, and Dominique. I went in looking for a seeded watermelon last weekend and noticed there weren’t any more available on the floor. I asked Alisha about it, and she was so kind and attentive in helping me. She asked Dominique for assistance, and Dominique immediately stopped what she was doing to bring one out for me. I know retail can get extremely busy, and dealing with customers can sometimes be hectic, but I truly appreciated the positive attitudes and willingness to help that both of these ladies showed. Alisha even checked in with me moments later when she saw me in the store to make sure I was taken care of. I just wanted to take the time to recognize them because their kindness and customer service really stood out to me. Thank you, Alisha and Dominique, for making my experience such a positive one!

  Visiting our daughter, who just had our first grandchild, from out of state. The HEB is a very Texas kinda of store and has a very good selection of items with a lot of Texas uniqueness. My wife and I visited it multiple times this past week, partially because it was the closest grocery store to our daughter’s house. I would’ve given a solid 5 stars but deducted points for two reasons. First, there is an excessive amount of employees “shopping” for curbside service and they can be quite obnoxious and rude with the large carts they are pushing around and do not care about customers who are just trying to do their own shopping. Second, your self-checkout system is one of the worst I ever used. I would’ve given prefer to have an actual person check us out but there are only a minutes amount of lines open where someone is an actually working. Each time we used the self checkout line, there was always a problem with weight disparity for items being placed in a bag , and or removing a bag and placing it in your cart. Completely stalls the whole system until an employee (with zero personality) comes over to reset it. The whole process was very annoying and if there were another store closer I would go to it just because of that in and of itself. It takes away from the atmosphere of the store and is on dire need of improvement.
