  Place was throughly decorated and was perfect. Nice outside and the atomosphere was amazing.However my tab was 140 and the food and the service did not live up to that much money! The service was disappointing it looked like all the waitress were more interested in watching the World Cup game than serving. It looked like they were really busy doing their job. 🙄 My waitress gave me and my family very poor service would come ever so often our drinks would often get low and when we needed things he was never available. The food on the other hand was really that great my daughter order a sirloin steak and asked for pink center it was not in fact pink center and was more all red. She had to trade with my husband. Very disappointed always here so much good things about this place and this was my experience. It was also my daughter’s birthday and she was disappointed about the quality of service and food. For that reason, we’re glad to be never going back.

  Ordered the 9oz fillet. I order medium because it usually comes out medium rare which I prefer. The fillet did come out medium rare but the taste was not there. No flavor whatsoever just a very bland piece of meat. Don't know if the steak was old or what. My wife ordered a grilled chicken breast which was very dry and tough. For the amount of money I spent I was hoping for a better meal.

  First time here and it's everything we expected and more!!!!! It was FANTASTIC!! Fried mushrooms were out of this world....... ribeye was glorious. Staff were great as well, smiles and very friendly. David the manager was very attentive and made us feel welcome. One happy, stuffed family. Eat here! We will definitely be back!!

  I would highly recommend asking for Gabby as your server at Saltgrass! She provided outstanding service from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Gabby checked on us regularly without being intrusive and made our dining experience enjoyable and stress-free. Her positive attitude and excellent customer service truly stood out. If you’re dining at Saltgrass, do yourself a favor and request Gabby, you won’t be disappointed!

  I met an associate at Saltgrass Steakhouse in McAllen for dinner. I had only been to Saltgrass one other time in Houston. I enjoyed my meal there and had high expectations for this time. The building is decorated nicely with a western theme. There are some taxidermied animals (I noticed the longhorn, and a bobcat), so if you're squeamish about that or vegan I recommend you go find a tofu house. The outside is also nicely done, complete with patio dining tables- but it's so hot this time of year that was not an option for us. Background mysic stayed in the background, adding ambience without stopping conversation. We had no wait for a table, and our server did a great job taking our order. He was friendly, engaging, and efficient. He brought our drinks and one of their loaves of warm bread and butter. The bread is delicious, but I only had one piece to save room for the main course. I ordered the 12 oz. ribeye, a baked potato and a salad. My associate had the Texas T-bone, a salad and some asparagus spears. Both our steaks were cooked as ordered and we both enjoyed them immensely. Mine was so good it did not need steak sauce. I did ask for some extra butter for my potato, and it was promptly brought to the table. The salad was very good, as was the potato (I can get those elsewhere, and for less), but the star of the show was the steak. While their desserts sounded delectable, after my meal I couldn't eat another bite. Prices are on the high side, but this is not fast food, and the service and ambience were excellent. I recommend Saltgrass for a business meal. A romantic date or other special occasion.
