  We bought $200 worth of formula for my newborn baby with gift cards only to find out that my baby is not tolerating the formula well and needed to be switched to a different formula. Unfortunately, I lost the receipts. I went to H-E-B to not get money back, but to simply exchange the formula for the formula that she’s using now and they would absolutely not help me. This is infuriating, on top of the stress of having to find a formula that my child can tolerate, I am now stuck with formula that my daughter cannot drink and HEB, does not have the compassion to simply do a simple exchange. The formula is sealed and unopened. Very disappointed and frustrating.

  Absolute worst customer service. I even dealt with the GM Joey. He shouldn’t be the manager of a lemonade stand let alone a major grocery store. When I asked for his card he said he didn’t have a card then I asked for his information he said I’m not giving you my personal information. I didn’t ask for personal information I wanted what would be on a business card. I asked for his district manager and he said call Corporate. He only gave me his name when I asked more than once. I will drive farther way to not have to deal with this BS

  I visit this H-E-B often, and today, while there, I was looking for a certain seasonal product. It was not in the standard aisle, nor was it on the end cap like it was two weeks ago when it was released. I asked an H-E-B associate as he was walking by, and he informed me that he was helping another guest at the moment. But he knew they had my product in the back and said he would get it for me. I thanked him and told him the general area where I would wait. The product was not a life-or-death type of necessity at all. Had he not returned in a timely manner due to other, more pressing duties, I would have survived just fine. I wasn't in a major rush, but I also didn't want to wait around for 20 minutes for a box of Count Chocula cereal. To my surprise, the associate returned in less than 4 minutes, found me, and had several boxes of various options. I picked the one I was searching for and asked if he had any more. He immediately went to the back to retrieve a second box for me. I was curious so I asked him why they were in the back, since they are only offered during Halloween. He didn't know, but he politely offered to call his manager to get a better answer for me. I looked at his name tag, thanked him by name, and told him I appreciated his help but that a call wasn't necessary. I was BEYOND impressed with this young man's politeness, initiative, and amazing follow-through. It was...just a box of cereal. But his willingness to go above and beyond, and to do so efficiently, was genuinely impressive. It wasn't that he did anything extraordinary; he just did an ordinary thing extraordinarily well. Having worked in customer service myself, I know this review may result in no more than a pat on the back from H-E-B. But I hope it serves as encouragement for him to continue bringing this same level of dedication and initiative to whatever he does in life. That kind of attitude will serve him well for years to come. Good luck to you, Dominick, and thank you!

  I actually love the stores, however I have to possess the worse timing when picking up specific items for my family. Either they aren't stocking enough of what I need, or my chosen items are very popular. They are out whenever I need their brand of vanilla yogurt, or some other items. Great stores!

  Phillip in the bakery saved the day for my partner’s 50th birthday cake. He went above and beyond to help me with printing the image for the cake as a plan B (the night before I needed it) since my original plan did not work. He stayed a little late past the bakery closing time to make sure my order for tomorrow would get taken care of! Excellent customer service from a distressed customer trying to pull off a last minute idea! Thanks Phillip, you truly are the best!
