Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
This “good service” these people are talking about CAN’T be regarding the night crew. Because those people were awful.
I placed my order online ahead of time. I normally do drive-thru pickup. I would’ve done it again had they not taken the option off the app. So I did online carryout instead. Will never do that again. Nobody would come to the register aside from this one rude old woman that looked me dead in my eyes about fifty times yet helped everyone else around me even though I had been there first. I even watched her tell the boy in front of me “i saw you before anyone else” and promptly got him his order, but completely skipped me to get everyone else??? Saw her check the names of the bagged food and she literally ignored my order, moved it to the side, and tended to another order that wasn’t even ready yet. Went out of her way to ask EVERYONE ELSE their names and skipped over me entirely.
The woman on fries and bagging was no better. She just stood there confused half the time with her back to the restaurant as if there wasn’t anyone waiting for service behind her. She ran a couple orders that came way after me and continued to pass me. I was standing right in front of her and she deliberately ignored me.
I don’t know if it was one of the managers as well, but one of the gentlemen in a different colored shirt passing the counter over and over again continuously looked at all the people waiting and didn’t say a thing about getting someone on register.
I did have to end up grabbing the attention of a gentleman that I believe was actually working the drive thru. He grabbed me my order and apologized for the wait.
When it’s a rush and crazy busy, I get it. I worked in fast food so I don’t judge. But there couldn’t have been more than 4 cars in the drive-thru and 3 people inside when I got there. People only started coming in more probably 10 minutes after I showed up. I know this place gets slammed at certain times so if the service was this crappy on a slow night, how in the world do they manage on a crazy busy night?! This was just pure laziness and there’s ZERO excuse for it. I see why people judge fast food workers these days. Couldn’t even do the BARE minimum of your job description. Do some more training or just get a whole new crew entirely at this point cause it seems like nobody up there was even sober. Just chatty, walking around and waiting more than engaging with customers and running orders, looking confused/dazed, standing around, they’re too grown to need to be micromanaged, spoon-fed instructions like some teenagers for gods sake. Beyond ridiculous. Do better.

A classic Texas fast-food stop known for its big, made-to-order burgers and quick, convenient service any time of day.
Great for a late-night bite or casual meal, with satisfying portions and a no-fuss, drive-thru-friendly experience.

The food is very plain tasting. There's been so much hype about whataburger, yet this location was very lack luster. The customer service was so so. Only one person did/said anything that was above standard. And by standard, I mean no anger or attitude towards the customer. So not a very high standard at all.
