This is a text I just sent to the corporate office of Inspire Brands, parent company of Sonic.
Good evening. I’m writing about the Sonic franchise that is located at 771 Keller Parkway in Keller, Texas. I have tried to locate the name of the owner, but haven't heard been unsuccessful. In light of that fact, I decided to send this message to you.
This evening, May 15, 2026, around 6:30 pm, when I placed an order at the kiosk at this Sonic, several things went awry. My order was for a Sonic Cheeseburger, a small order of onion rings, and a medium ice water. When I attempted to pay with a credit card, that particular kiosk flashed on the screen that I could only pay with cash. However, it would have been better had the kiosk had a note saying that prior to my placing the order. Fortunately, I had enough cash to pay for my meal. That was the first problem.
My food was delivered in a timely fashion, and I pulled out the onion rings. About that time, a young female server appeared at my window asking if I had received a particular sandwich which had actually been ordered by another customer. Since I had not opened the sandwich yet, I had no clue. I handed her the still wrapped sandwich, which she proceeded to unwrap. She verified that I had been given the wrong sandwich, then took the sandwich (which she had unwrapped) and gave it to the customer two cars over. She then told me that she would go get my sandwich from the kitchen.
A few minutes later she brought me a cheeseburger, which I opened. It was obvious to me as I opened the sandwich that it was less than hot -- in fact, it was room temperature. I considered going ahead and eating it, but decided instead to push the order button and report that it was cold. The same young lady came, took it away, and said something that I took to mean they would be making me a new cheeseburger. In a few minutes, another bag was delivered to me. Once again, I pulled the sandwich from the bag. I started to unwrap it, and discovered that it, too, was basically cold. I really wouldn't even call it room temperature. So I pushed the order button again, and a male employee answered. I informed him that the second sandwich was also cold. He proceeded to tell me that he saw it being made and it had just come off the grill. At that point I asked if a manager was available. He said not at that time, but that one would be arriving later. I informed him that a manager arriving later this evening was really no good for me. Within a few moments a lady appeared at my window and informed me that she was the manager, and she confirmed that she saw the cheeseburger being made and that it was hot. I handed the cheeseburger to her and asked her to feel it. At first she refused, but she finally did. However, at that point she became very rude and just walked away. I had no idea if she was coming back. I waited several minutes, ate part of the cold cheeseburger, and when it became apparent that she wasn't coming back and nothing was going to be done to make me a satisfied customer, I drove off.
As I said when I started this text, I tried to find the name of the owner so I could lodge a formal complaint, but wasn't able to do so. Therefore, I googled how I could contact the parent company of Sonic, Inspire Brands. I was told I could send a written complaint to this number. So that's what I've done. Basically, I will NEVER again visit that particular Sonic. But more importantly, I want the owner or general manager to be aware of the fact that in this case, the customer service I received was not at all professional, appropriate, or satisfactory. I'm not sure what you can do about this, but I think it needed to be said.
Thank you.
