Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
I genuinely love this place. The food is fresh, and the employees have always been kind. But what I saw today was completely unacceptable.
I stopped by around 7:30 PM in Katy, Texas. It was 97°F outside with a heat index around 102°F, and the sun was still beating directly against the side of the building.
The outdoor ordering machines were working perfectly fine, yet employees were being required to stand outside taking orders by hand. Why?
There was no visible water available to them, and there was absolutely no operational reason I could see for employees to be standing outside in that kind of heat when customers could simply use the functioning ordering machines.
I spoke directly with the manager and made it clear that these employees needed to be brought inside. Yet 30 minutes later, they were still outside.
That is not customer service. That is not efficiency. That is a failure to take care of your people.
We’re in Texas. Extreme heat isn’t a surprise. If technology is available and working, there is no reason to unnecessarily expose employees to dangerous temperatures just to have someone standing next to a machine that already takes orders.
I will absolutely recognize great food and great employees but management needs to do better.
Take care of the people who take care of your customers. Common sense should not have to be demanded.

Customer service was very good and stood out during the visit. The staff was friendly, respectful, and quick when taking the order, making the experience pleasant. In particular, the ladies Joselyn, Jackie, and María pay close attention and provide excellent service, which further improves the experience.
The place was clean and tidy. The food met expectations, but the best part was the service.
Without a doubt, it is a 100% recommended place.

I came in late at night to order a carry out meal for me and other people. A young lady by the name of Maria took my order and was patient with me. Later a young lady with glasses by the name of I believe Joselyn brought out my food and confirmed with me everything was correct. Finally I was given a fond farewell by another lovely young lady by the name of Jackie, a kind gesture of her part that I really loved! Overall, I’m pleased with the food of this whataburger establishment and the overall customer service experience! I truly value it and I can’t wait to come back again!!!

Oh my goodness I went in and I was panicking so much because I had to order a LOT of food for the girls on my team, and I feel so bad about it but the cashier was the sweetest, she was so patient the whole time 😭 I remember her name was Joselyn, and when I wanted to use some rewards on the app and it wasn't going through (it was my first time using it) this sweet girl brought out the manager, I think her name was Jackie, and she was the kindest to me. The whole time I was thinking, regular workers and managers would get impatient, but they really went above and beyond. I tried giving a tip for their patience, but they told me it was part of working there. Such dedicated folk 🤗 anyways the girls LOVED the food, would definitely 100% go back there again.
