I have been to this place 3 times now just because their menu is huge and good portion sizes and I want to try all. Lol
We tried -
1. masala dabbarotta - this was kind of okay, it was my first time trying this and I couldn't understand the taste. 3/5
2. Parotta - this is flaky and nice but too oily. 3.5/5
3. Masala chestnut - we ordered mind but it was still spicy but we like the taste. It was flavourful 4/5
4. Dry veg Manchurian - damn good!!! No coloring just absolute taste. If you are a northidian finding good manchurian, try this. 4.5/5
5. Mango tres leches - it was too sweet and okayish - 3/5
6. Chilli momo- surprisingly this was really good 4/5
7. Veg thali - it was good too - 4/5
8. Badam falooda - not good. It was too watery 1/5
9. Classic falooda - it was better than badam one, can try again but noodles for only name sake, but taste was good. 3.8/5
My wife and I came to eat here Saturday night as she read about it in our community paper. Now we just got back from Portugal and eating a lot of similar food there which was amazing!
I have to say this place in Katy Simply South hit the nail on the head and is excellent!
We loved ALL the food we ordered and the Mango drink. Service is very good....the atmosphere is beautiful and they are just getting started.
Very grateful for food like this as places like this are perfect for vegetarians....THANKS Simply South....wonderful experience and food!
Wonderful new all vegetarian restaurant in Katy. The food here is a treat to speak the least! You can tell they use very high quality ingredients which comes through in the taste. The ambience is beautiful and the plates and cutlery they use are very Indian elegant!
We ordered Benne dosa, Benne masala dosa and it was sumptuous with ghee. Also ordered paneer tikka masala which was rich and tasty to along with Naan. Also ordered Gobi Manchurian which was very good. Finished up with a Cheeku milk shake and tea which were delicious.
The restaurant truly lives up to its hype. They have a soft opening now, excited to see their full fare once they officially open!

Overhyped. Not many items kid friendly. Ordered benne dosa for my son as I’m South Indian and davangere benne dosa is not always lined with podi but this was not described in the menu and my son found it too spicy. Vadas were refried - one could tell from color and oiliness . Their menu needs to describe certain very ethnic dishes as one wants to try them but won’t be familiar with what goes in it - for spice level or allergies.
Space wise we were given the last booth in the middle room on the extreme right under the painting wall, after you enter. Very cramped and I am short at barely 5 .
Also rude customer service. Called out of courtesy to inform we have a reservation, driving from far and will be 3-5 min late. Desi aunty answering the phone - didn’t say thank you for the heads up/ letting me know , we hold table for x min. Rudely she informed me that the table will be reserved only for 5 min and will be given to next. We reached there to find it was not busy and there were many tables. Then why this attitude? Clearly they don’t need business.

Went there for lunch on a Saturday, there were no reservations online but we managed to get a booth with 10min wait.
Chutney's - absolutely fresh and delicious
Plain dosa - little sour, there is scope for improvement
Vada - Crunchy but again felt little bit sour
Chatpata corn - crunchy and tasty
Pachi Mirchi Biryani - very very Tasty
Thali - Came with poori baji, pudina rice, papad, cauliflower curry, sambar, rasam, chukka kura pappu, bendi fry, paneer butter masala, 3 sweets ( lauki halwa, pongal, kaaju sweet), curd rice, mix veg fry
Thali mix veg fry was bit salty, otherwise absolutely delicious, especially pudina rice was otherwordly!!
Falooda - Kid loved it
Filter coffee - request no sugar,- came out very bitter (may be did not go well with all the other food)
Would definitely return and bring friends and family to try other menu items!!
Mayur did a great job and made sure we had a pleasant lunch_/\_
What a wonderful feast!
Hope it will match and exceed Dallas Simply South Restaurant in Food Taste!
