Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. I have been coming to Saltgrass for over 20 years, and I have NEVER experienced anything like this. I ordered the Signature Steak & Shrimp, and my steak had to be sent back THREE TIMES because it was not cooked properly. By the third attempt, I was completely over the entire experience and decided to just take the steak home. What makes this even more unbelievable is that when I got home and cut into the THIRD steak, IT STILL WASN’T COOKED PROPERLY! Three steaks. Three attempts. And somehow I STILL left without a properly cooked meal. The manager made the experience even worse. He was dismissive, seemed completely unconcerned, and at one point actually tried to box up an undercooked steak for me as if that was an acceptable solution. After being a customer for more than TWO DECADES, I am beyond disappointed. I went out to enjoy a nice steak dinner, not spend my evening repeatedly sending food back to the kitchen just to ultimately go home with an undercooked steak anyway. For this to be the level of food AND management at Saltgrass is absolutely unacceptable. Easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in years.

A week before going here, I had THE BEST sirloin ever at the Saltgrass in Midland/Odessa. At the one in Katy, I had one of the most mediocre sirloin ever. It was poorly cooked and served cool (the pat of butter on the sirloin never melted). Delaney provided excellent service. Maybe Sunday night isn't a good night to go.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Saltgrass – Mason Road I recently visited the Saltgrass location on Mason Road, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. I expected a quality meal and good customer service, but instead I was served mashed potatoes that had clearly gone bad and had a sour, unpleasant smell. The issue was so obvious that I asked the manager to smell them herself, and she confirmed that the mashed potatoes had indeed gone bad. What happened next was even more disappointing. Rather than offering to replace my meal or properly addressing the seriousness of serving a spoiled food item, the manager simply asked whether I wanted another side. She brought me a replacement side and, instead of preparing a fresh steak, she took my existing steak from underneath the sour mashed potatoes and placed it alongside the new side. At that point, I was already extremely uncomfortable and concerned about continuing to eat the food. Once food has been sitting against something that has spoiled and smells sour, simply moving the steak onto another side does not make the situation feel acceptable. To make matters worse, I was not offered a refund, a discount, or any meaningful accommodation for the inconvenience and poor experience. I was left sitting there feeling nauseous and uncomfortable after realizing that I had been served food that the manager herself confirmed had gone bad. Despite the situation, I was then asked if I wanted dessert. That was incredibly insensitive given the circumstances. After being served spoiled mashed potatoes and feeling nauseous, the last thing I was interested in was dessert. This entire experience left a very bad impression of Saltgrass and the way this location handled a serious food-quality issue. Mistakes can happen in restaurants, but how management responds to those mistakes is what separates good establishments from bad ones. I expected the manager to take the situation much more seriously, apologize, replace the affected meal appropriately, and make some reasonable effort to compensate for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this Saltgrass location based on my experience. I will not be returning, and I strongly encourage anyone dining here to pay close attention to the quality and freshness of their food. Serving food that has gone bad is unacceptable, and the response from management afterward was just as disappointing.

😱 All I can say is I have not eaten here in Decades I also barely do reviews on restaurants and when I say they did not disappoint the food was Hot & Fresh we came here for our Anniversary and had a blast My hubby had the steak and mushroom with Baked sweet potato I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with white gravy and Bake Potato , Asparagus and Appetizers Queso with Smoked Brisket, Jalapeño Rattlers an so let’s talk about the Grilled Pineapple Margarita a Win Win!! Good kick 😂 every table was ordering them so I would say that might be a favorite there. ok and Ms. Trinity or waitress she was awesome she suggested items to us she made sure she asked us what condiments we would like and of course asked if we wanted Desserts it’s no way we could we had ate too much but definitely will try next visit she stated she was new I would have never known great job Trinity keep up the great work I can’t wait till we go back to try something new😋 We went on a Sunday and the house was jammed pack so that’s a good sign there cooking some good food!!!

Thomas and Rachel are the best servers ever! They are both attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. Drinks were constantly refilled and the food came out quickly and accurate. The manager was super helpful with a food allergy and went above and beyond to make sure we were safe! Very kind and thoughtful. Such a great dining experience.
