I had lunch at Babin’s in Katy today; first time in that restaurant. The food was very good and when I took the first taste of creamy crab bisque I thought I’d died and gone to heaven! The shrimp po’boy was good too…and all served up by a delightful and smart waitress Ariana. We were a party of five with different check options and she aced it easily.i will definitely be back.

Highly recommend the Crawfish Etoufee and the Shrimp and Salmon Kabob! Crab Bisque and don't forget the Chocolate Cake with coffee, definitely a heaven on earth experience! Stacy was a joy and definitely added to our wonderful dining experience!

Went on Mother's day, so my fault. Expected it to be busy and it was. My main complaint: Ordered Red Snapper and was served Redfish. I believe they do not expect patrons to know the difference. I noticed it tasted funny at the restaurant, but it was dark and the fish was covered on a sauce. Upon inspection at home, it was obviously Redfish. Why not say, we ran out of snapper? This is one of the places we can go to get stuffed shrimp for my MIL. So I am returning, just not ordering the fish anymore.

Just enjoyed Mother’s Day dinner. It was awesome. But extremely busy so a bit slower than usual. Seated by the kitchen watching the cooks and platers and servers work. Most efficient operation you could imagine. No sitting around waiting. Food was coming out a plate every 10-15 seconds consisting for over 2 hours. Nobody took a break. My food was prepared and served perfectly. I asked about the person who I labeled Food Traffic Control. He made sure the right plates went on the right platters to the right tables and food never stood still for more than 20 seconds. The staff told me ‘He our boss. Our GM. He always pitches in to help in busy days,’. Wow. They admired his leadership. Babins/Landry. This GM and his team are good.

My husband & I visited this establishment for dinner last night. It was our very first time. We mentioned this to our server, who seemed quite indifferent to that fact. We asked for suggestions regarding popular/tasty items & really did not receive much feedback. She seemed aloof & uncaring/unwelcoming. The food tasted good/decent. The fish my husband was eager & excited to enjoy was not available, so he opted for a fried plate of fish & shrimp. The server had a very, “Oh well!” attitude. The taste was nothing significantly memorable, simply fried seafood. The bisque was decent, yet lacked something that I absolutely cannot put my finger on. It left my heart 💙 feeling a tad empty inside. The atmosphere was pretty general, nothing to write home about. We were left waiting for drink refills, which made things rather unpleasant, especially when one is required to pay nearly $4.00 per drink. We had to ask for items that any waiter/waitress should automatically know to offer (straws, etc). We also had to ask for more bread even though our bread plate was obviously empty. 🤷‍♀️ Having to ask for items that are pretty common gets tiring during a visit. The sad part about this visit is that we were really excited to visit Babin’s Seafood for the first time; however, our server was far from helpful or accommodating, which made for a highly unpleasant experience & having to wait an extended period for items that should immediately be taken care of was NOT okay. Overall, I would like to ATTEMPT another visit, but with a server who truly cares for their patrons.
