I ordered a Big Breakfast at 8:59 and was told to park and they would bring it out to me. At 8:20 I figured that they had lost my order or forgot me. I went back inside and asked where my order was. The cashier told me that it was being prepared and I needed to go back to my truck and wait. I waited for another 10 minutes and went back inside. I asked to speak to the manager. The cashier went to the back and found my order which had been sitting there for who knows how long. I was served cold food at 8:32 and never got to talk to the manager. This will be my last time to darken their door.

The cashiers were polite, but manager Jackie managed to turn a $0.00 problem into a 1-star experience. I ordered McGriddles and asked for syrup because, apparently, I’m one of those crazy customers who likes syrup with my breakfast. I don’t come to McDonald’s often, so I wasn’t aware that syrup now costs extra. The cashier gave us the syrup, and instead of simply letting us know at the register that there was an additional charge, Jackie came over to US—paying customers—to tell us that our order didn’t include syrup and that we needed to pay for it. We immediately said we would gladly pay for it. Then, oddly enough, Jackie said she wouldn’t charge us this time but that we needed to pay next time. So… what exactly was the purpose of approaching us in the first place? 😐 If McDonald’s has a policy that customers have to pay for extra sauces, that’s perfectly fine. Train your employees to communicate that when the customer orders the sauce. Don’t have an employee hand it to the customer and then send the manager over afterward to make them feel like they’re trying to get something for free. I would have had absolutely no issue paying for the syrup. What I did have an issue with was being singled out over something that could have been handled at the register in about five seconds. Jackie’s approach was unnecessarily confrontational and made what should have been a normal breakfast feel uncomfortable. Maybe train the team before lecturing the customers. It would save everyone the trouble.

My fiancee went up to the counter to ask for a couple of syrups. The team member gave her a couple and went back to her table. A minute later the manager Jackie came to our table and started scolding us because she said that we only give syrups to hotcakes and we got mcgriddles and they don't get syrup and we would have to pay for them. We said we would pay for them but she said to not do it again. Why scold us, we did not do anything wrong. We asked for syrup and the team member gave it to us without letting us know we had to pay. If it was such a big deal, train your team member better Jackie.
