We came to Houston from Detroit. I had a taste for oxtails and found Suzie's. When I tell you that the food is delicious, and the greens were so well seasoned. Check this restaurant out!! You won't be disappointed. Suzie is a sweetheart too. Oh, the strawberry lemonade is excellent.

Incredibly delicious!! Food is fresh, authentic, and excessively tasty! From the Beef patties, to the moist juicy Jerk Chicken and Curry Chicken, etc..every dish I have had has been a vibe in itself. Even the sides are yummy. (Shout out to the greens w turkey, and the sweet plantains!) Staff is welcoming and friendly, and the menu options are filled with things to try. If you want something fresh, seasoned perfectly, and filling, I highly suggest this be your next stop indeed.
Well done Suzie!!!!!
My sister wouldn’t stop raving about Suzie’s Fusion Cuisine, so I finally had to see what the hype was about. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, and the restaurant itself was very clean.
For my meal, I ordered the boneless jerk chicken with rice and beans and plantains. While the plantains were a bit firmer than I usually prefer, they were still quite tasty. The jerk chicken was seasoned perfectly and went great with the veggies, though I personally would have loved a bit more of that signature jerk sauce.
The real standout, however, was the Sautéed Greens with Turkey. I’m usually not a fan of greens, but these were absolutely incredible—perfectly seasoned and the turkey was so tender it was falling off the bone. I also tried a few of their sauces; the chutney was delicious, and the spicy peach was definitely my favorite.
The staff was friendly, and the whole experience was great. I haven't even scratched the surface of the menu yet, so I’ll definitely be back for part two! Highly recommended.

I stumbled across this place because I was going to the burger place next door. At the last minute I decided to walk next door to see what type of food they had. I let them know that it was my first time there and I didn’t understand the ordering process. He explained to me how to place an order on the tablet that’s displayed in the front. I like how they have pictures of everything that’s on the menu. That way people don’t have to guess what the food looks like. Payment was easy as well. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. The music was good. A customer recommended the jerk chicken, coconut rice and peas and greens. It was a little wait guessing because they were busy but it was worth the wait. Once I got my food had to take a look at it once I got to my car. The greens looked so good and flavorful, I had to try them in the car😂 Omg, those greens were so good! I ran right back into the restaurant. One of the owners looked at me concerned lol I’m told him how good those greens were that I had to order another side order lol I had to ask him who made those greens? He told me his wife Suzie did. She really did her thing with those greens. They were cooked a different way then what I’m use to. The jerk chicken was good and flavorful as well. It isn’t spicy at all but they do have different sauces that you can add to spice it up. I added some sauce that he recommended for the chicken, it was sweet and a little spicy. I can’t remember the name of it but get that sauce! The portions were very good for the price. I will definitely be back to try something else. I would like to try the oxtail dinner whenever I’m able to splurge on them😩. Overall, this place is a 10/10 coming from a foodie!
I really wanted to support this business and came in with positive intentions. Before I walked in, I had the person I was with add this restaurant to our schedule for a very large group from my company. We were interested in reviewing the experience and potentially promoting the business on social media. Unfortunately, after my experience, I removed it from our schedule.
I came in wanting to support a Black-owned business and hoping to have a good experience. I asked if I could have a small sample of one of the precooked items behind the glass before ordering. I understand not every restaurant offers samples, and I would have been completely fine with a simple “we don’t do samples.” Instead, the response felt defensive, including comments like “where they do that at?” and asking me to name a place where customers can get samples.
I then asked what the policy would be if I ordered something and genuinely did not like it. When asked why I thought I might not like it, I explained that one of the items I was considering looked dry on top. My intention was not to insult the cooking or the restaurant. I was only explaining my concern before spending my money.
The conversation then became a disagreement about my intentions. I was told I disrespected the owner’s wife’s cooking, even though that was not my intent. The owner began raising his voice, interrupting me repeatedly, and speaking aggressively while other customers were present.
During the conversation, he said, “you’re emotional,” and repeatedly told me to “stop talking” and listen to him. I did that for long periods of time because I genuinely wanted to understand his perspective and resolve the misunderstanding respectfully. However, when I tried to explain my perspective, I felt I was frequently interrupted. His wife eventually asked him to step away and continue the conversation elsewhere because of how intense the interaction became.
The conversation also shifted into comments about how I would treat or question other cultures’ businesses. He said that I would not ask Chinese businesses the same types of questions and would allow them to treat me however they wanted. I found that disappointing because it wasn't true, moved the conversation away from the actual concern, and is something unacceptable to even say.
I tried multiple times to explain that I was not trying to disrespect him and that my goal was simply to have a respectful conversation. Before leaving, I told him that I loved him, wished him the best, and hoped he could continue to grow and improve. I meant that sincerely. I was not trying to tear him down or hurt his business; I wanted the situation to be better and hoped we could leave with mutual respect.
He responded that he respected me, but that his love was too strong to love me. I explained that I believe there are different types of love and that I genuinely care about all people.
Based on my experience, I believe customer service training, especially around handling disagreements and customer concerns, would greatly benefit this business. If front-of-house interactions are not his strength, it may be worth considering allowing someone who is more comfortable with those interactions to take the lead.
I believe customer service is not just about the food or the good times; it is also about how customers are treated when they have questions or concerns. I wanted this business to succeed, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I support Black-owned businesses and want to see them thrive. I hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity to improve communication and customer service.
I truly wish the owners and the business success. I hope this experience leads to growth because I want to see businesses in our community succeed and be places customers feel proud to support.
