Located in the heart of Uptown Houston and next to The Post Oak Hotel, Willie G’s Seafood offers a dining experience that features innovative and fresh menu items inspired by a passion for fresh gulf coast seafood and focusing on local, seasonal offerings.
This place is amazing. I enjoyed everything about our dining experience. From when you first walk in and see the fish sitting on ice, to the lively atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food. I don't leave reviews often but Willie G's hit it out of the park. We started out with oysters (not a bad one in the dozen east coast oysters we had) and the hamachi crudo was on another level of flavor explosions. For our entre we enjoyed the whole branzino and an 8oz. filet (shared because we wanted to try both). The crust on the steak was amazing and the quality of steak is excellent. I'm not a fan of fish, but I enjoyed the way it was cooked and would order the same thing again. I want to say thanks to Jay, Ryan, and our server Yessica who all went above and beyond to make our dining experience a great one. For drinks we had a glass of chardonnay and a bottle of Frank Family Cab (highly recommend). For dessert we had the chocolate crunch cake which was full of different flavors and textures. The chocolate crunch cake is well worth it and I would do it again. We also had beignets but I'm not a fan of beignets and I only ordered them so we could take them home to our kids. The presentation and freshness of the beignets were worth it. If you haven't tried this place yet, do it. If you went before and haven't been in a while, go. It's a great place to dine in Houston.

I had made reservations to celebrate my daughter’s graduation for Saturday, May 8th. She picked this restaurant for dinner. The seating was great, which was on the patio, that is why they still received a 4-star review for that. We had a party of 17 people. First thing that needs to be communicated over the phone or on the website that you have to get valet parking. Next, it needs to be communicated to the person that makes the reservation that we will get one ticket for a party of whatever number or more and not individual tickets so everyone can keep up or write down what they had. This was so aggravating to figure out!!
Also, the waiter must not have been communicating with the people that bring out the food because they were bringing food out and giving it to the wrong people while he was no where in sight. The food was lukewarm. Instead of waiting until everyone food is ready they should have brought out when each food or similar items of food were ready. For example, all hamburgers and fries come out together. It wasn't a good first experience for any of us. Maybe this restaurant is a good place for a smaller group or maybe it just depends on who you are after I just now read previous reviews…not sure.

Went on Mother’s Day brunch food was delicious. Mash potatoes was delicious reservations was 10am was the first there finally got seated. But people came in after us and got waiter quickly we had to ask the hostess were is are waiter after 5 minutes of waiting. I guess if we never asked we be still watching all the other tables being waited on. Finally got a waiter Donovan who was very nice but new and really didn’t know the menu. First time there and just wish I had a waiter who knew the menu and food better. Also wish they informed on their website that the restaurant is only valet parking but other than that it’s a nice restaurant just need to train staff on the menu better.

We had an 8:00 PM reservation and still ended up waiting about 45 minutes to be seated. When we asked about the delay, we were told that other guests had been waiting longer. However, throughout that time, we noticed other parties being seated ahead of us.
It was also upsetting that it appeared guests of different races were being seated while all of the Black guests, including us, were left waiting. The host’s attitude made the experience worse, coming across as rude and dismissive when we tried to ask questions.
Overall, the service and communication were very disappointing, and the experience did not reflect what we expected from a restaurant with reservations in place.

Willie G’s has the SWEETEST most sincere staff throughout the entire facility from the valet to the managers. They are so caring and accommodating. Other restaurants can learn a thing or two about customer service from them. The food tastes AMAZING, it’s filling and it’s so reasonably priced! I ordered the lobster bisque and a virgin hibiscus flavored drink that I cannot remember the name of. The bisque came with a generous amount of lobster and it was so flavorful. My drink looked so aesthetically appealing and although it was packed with flavor, the hibiscus flavor wasn’t overpowering. If I could describe it in 2 words I would say: sweet and refreshing. Thank you for helping to foster my mom’s birthday into something special and making her feel appreciated as a patron.
