Willie G’s absolutely delivered! From the appetizers to the entrée and cocktails, this was one of those meals where every course gave me a reason to look forward to the next one.
We started with the Sea Bass Bites, and they were excellent—beautifully seared with a flavorful crust while remaining tender and flaky inside. The sauces and garnishes added just enough complexity without overpowering the fish.
The New Orleans BBQ Gulf Shrimp brought that deep, rich Gulf Coast flavor I was hoping for. The sauce was bold, savory, and packed with flavor, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. This is definitely a dish you want some bread nearby for because leaving that sauce behind would be a mistake!
For the main course, I had the Redfish Special topped with lump crab and shrimp, paired with the King Crab Fried Rice. This was the star of the evening. The redfish had a beautiful sear, and adding lump crab and shrimp took an already great dish to another level. The King Crab Fried Rice was loaded with seafood and could almost stand on its own as an entrée.
I paired dinner with an Old Fashioned, which was well-balanced, smooth, and exactly what I wanted alongside a rich seafood dinner.
Willie G’s does a great job combining an upscale dining experience with the bold seafood flavors you expect from the Gulf Coast. The presentation was beautiful, the portions were generous, and the quality of the seafood came through in every dish.
Willie G’s Houston is absolutely going on my repeat list. 10/10 experience.

I had the red snappers smoked with the crab fried rice and Brussels sprouts. This meal was excellent and I recommend this restaurant to everyone. Very friendly place.

We had such a wonderful experience at Willie G’s celebrating my cousin’s birthday! Everything was excellent from start to finish. The service was absolutely perfect—attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcomed. The cocktails were delicious, and all of our food came out beautifully prepared and tasted amazing.
It was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend Willie G’s!

HORRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE AND RUDE STAFF….went here for a friends birthday and requested happy hour seating and was told there was a 30 minute wait. We said we were okay with a wait and we were then sat about 10 minutes later. After we started ordering off the happy hour menu, the waitress informed us we were in not in happy hour seating. The manager came to speak with us and instead of just making an exception for us since it was a mistake made by staff, they allowed us to have only one round of drinks on happy hour and three free appetizers after we had already ordered and received one. We then said we were going elsewhere and they proceeded to charge us $40 for the tiniest plate of calamari (and full price even though it should’ve been free) and a coffee.
The manager and waitress were extremely rude and tried to make it seem like it was our fault we were sat in the wrong area and the calamari was extremely mid.
Highly recommend going to Fisherman’s Wharf instead!!!!

We ordered the whole strawberry grouper, and it was unfortunately one of the most overcooked fish dishes we ever had. The fish was dry, chewy, lacked flavor, and difficult to cut, even though it was topped with crabmeat and shrimp sauce.
The oysters were the highlight of the meal—they were good.
The asparagus, however, was bland and heavily saturated with oil.
Overall, the experience was very disappointing, and we won’t be returning.
